Three Mile Island edit
Hi Firebird:
Thank you for your contibution to the article on TMI and the accident from 1979. In June 2013 you had added a paragraph in front of "Human Factors - Stuck Valve Status", that read like this:
[Quote} The accident at Three Mile Island (TMI) Unit 2 involved the unintended loss of subcooling. U.S. Navy nuclear training had long been to keep the subcooled margin greater than 20F. This is done by monitoring the difference between the hot leg temperature and the pressurizer liquid temperature (or the pressurizer steam temperature). At TMI the operators did not notice that the subcooled margin had gone to zero, i.e., that the reactor coolant system was in saturation. [End-Quote]
Sorry, I an not familiar enough with WikiText for a blockquote. Was wanting to know if there is a reference or citation to the additional paragraph, either about
a) the limit of 20F for a margin of temperature between pressurizer and hot-leg of the main vessel, and,
b) about the operators not noticing the delta in temperature dropping to zero(saturation).
With a citation, it is more likeley to stay put and be included in the article. 174.93.119.12 (talk) 19:23, 9 September 2013 (UTC)
