I apologize for the misunderstading but I don't understand what it is that I did wrong. I'll locate the article for the Revolution starting on January 16 and properly place that citation on the 2012 Amercian television page. I meant to earlier but I got sidetracked. Ron Carlivati and Frank Valentini

But it contradicts the OLTL article. How can RC and FV be on OLTL and GH at the same time? Viewers will still see the name of Phelps and Wolf for a couple of weeks.

The exact same rules apply here as the rule for actors coming and leaving; meaning we go by the episode airdates, not filming dates. Why should they be a rule for actors and another one for EP/writters? It makes no sense at all. Farine (talk) 05:42, 10 January 2012 (UTC)

Exactly, OLTL stays the way it is and GH list the Phelps/Wolf duo. One rule applies to ALL articles. It's either the air date OR the filming date, not both. You can't decide to go by filming date for GH and by air date for OLTL. It's one or the other.

As per Wikipedia:WikiProject Television, the air date prevails. So Phelphs and Wolf stay on the GH box until the first episode under their FV/RC regime airs on February or March. Farine (talk) 08:09, 10 January 2012 (UTC)

Wolf/Altman's last episodes air this month, as well as JFP. Yesterday was FV/RC's first day on-set, not their airing material. Their material does not come into airing cycles until next month. While I see Soapfan's point of view, I also see Farine's. And I feel like Producer/Head Writer vs. Character Pages are different. Therefore I agree with Soapfan, FV/RC should be listed. I'm not upset about it. But if we follow the logic that you and Soapfan are suggesting, we would have to change the dates on many of the infobox articles. For example, the OLTL infobox would have to say 2003-2011 next to Frank Valentini instead of 2003-present (or 2003-2012 after this Friday) because Frank Valentini last directed OLTL on November 18,2011 when the show taped its final scenes. Putting FC/RC on the GH article creates inconsistency where certain rules apply to certain articles, while other rules apply to other articles. It's just out of respect for the show that has not aired its final show yet. When you think of it, why should a show be documented to readers all around the world as a defunct show when that show has not even aired yet its final episode? We have to draw a line somewhere otherwise people will start to label as "defunct" a show hours, days or even weeks before it has actually aired its last episode. Best regards. indefinite vs. infinite

I saw your comment, and just wanted to let you know that when I block someone "indefinitely" and start to talk, I don't intend it to be "infinite". I just don't like to use blocks as punishments, and I'm not supposed to use them that way. Once TVFAN24 makes me (or any other admin) believe that he won't just return to doing it again, he'll be unblocked. The problem is that right now it seems more like he's saying things to get unblocked, rather than really understanding why what he did was wrong. If he seems to really understand, he'll be back in hours. If he doesn't seem to understand, what would be the point of letting him back in a month?—Kww(talk) 03:53, 15 January 2012 (UTC)

ABC shows (and all networks for that matter)

Farine:

With primetime shows, if they are scheduled to air anytime within a 2 week period, then they're considered "current".

This is because the big TV listing sites (Zap2It, Titan TV, TV Guide) all have listings that span for 2 weeks, thus if a program is scheduled to air within that time frame, it goes on the list.

Now beyond 2 weeks...that's a different story.

The 2 week thing has always kinda been the unwritten Wiki policy when it comes to this kinda thing...besides, the show is airing this Tuesday, so it's really not that big of a deal, and not worth getting in a tizzy over. Vjmlhds 13:30, 5 April 2012 (UTC)

With primetime shows that are only on once a week, if they are scheduled to air anytime within the next 2 weeks of the current day (since that's the timeframe that all of the major listings sites use) then they should be included on the list, since you can see the date when they're gonna air.

Anything after 2 weeks, then it's fair to hold off, especially if it's a brand new show.

With daily programs...I'll give you holding off putting one on the list if it's replacing another (like when The Revolution replaced One Life to Live) until it ends it's run.

But with a weekly show, since primetime schedules can change on a dime, if a show is on the listed schedule, it should count on the currently airing list.

I think that's fair.

I think we can work together here...primetime shows within 2 weeks go on the "current list", beyond that (especially if it's a new show) goes in the "upcoming list". And we wait until a show has aired it's advertised finale before removing it from the list.

Daily shows--we wait till one expires before putting in it's replacement.

Question for you, Farine...

I understand that Wikipedia is not intended as a forum to discuss television shows themselves, and that the articles on TV shows are intended as "brief summaries", not catch-alls for details only relevant to fans...

My question is, can you point me in the direction of any sites that ARE intended as catch-alls for fans... I've noticed you've made some edits on the General Hospital page, and personally green-lighted my proposed source for clarifying a disputed date on the "Guiding Light" page, so I'm guessing you are knowledgeable about soap operas...

Any input from you, sir, would be greatly appreciated, on my talk page

General Hospital title sequence

I must admit I haven't been paying much attention to the General Hospital page, but I saw that you removed the tags I added. You do realize that the title sequence currently contains 1474 words, or 9257 characters, and only one reference. I would think that since you chose to remove the original research tag, you would have provided some sources about all of the information there. You haven't. Unless all of the items discussed have been reported in reliable sources everything in that section is from viewer observation which makes it... original research. Even if every single thing in there is true, unless a reliable source has discussed it, that makes it... original research. All of the detail in that section, which is mind blowing, may be true, but again, unless it has been discussed in a reliable source it is... original research. Either provide the necessary sources, which I assume you have found since you've known about the issue since February, or I'm going to drastically reduce the section. AniMate 07:57, 9 May 2012 (UTC)

2012-2013 season

Hey...

I wanna get squared with you first before I do anything.

When the 2012-2013 fall schedule is announced next week, should I (or you, whichever) put the new fall shows in the "Upcoming Shows" section, such as:

• XYZ Show (premeiring Fall 2012)

Or would it be better to have them in their own section such as:

New programs for 2012/2013

• XYZ Show
• RST Show

...and on down the line.
