more edit

The references are quoting 200km/h and 125mph - in the same breath - so they're rounding the figures - as you say 200km/h = just over 124mph etc. It can be fixed by using {{convert|xxx|disp=5|sigfig=3}}

Alternatively if you start with mph eg {{convert|125|mph|km/h}} and round it works ..

  • {{convert|125|mph|km/h}} ... 125 miles per hour (201 km/h)
  • {{convert|125|mph|km/h|sigfig}} ... 125 miles per hour (200 km/h)
  • {{convert|125|mph|km/h|disp=5}} ... 125 miles per hour (200 km/h)*

Bombardier Zefiro edit

Hi. I've temporarily reverted your edits to the article, can you explain on the talk page what needs to be changed. If the link is dead we can get the old document from a web archive and use that.

I made a temporary fix here [1] - but I haven't checked if any of the data is now wrong.

Can you re-add any new data. sorry about the inconvinience Sf5xeplus (talk) 22:13, 5 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

I wasn't disagreeing with what you were adding - just trying to tidy up the references..
As I understand it most of the information is unchanged. Though there is some additional height data and a few other changes - all I was asking was that you re-add that, and keep the references tidy.Sf5xeplus (talk) 16:37, 6 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Sorry about the earlier revert - I meant like this [2] - can you double check it. I worked out how to fix it using "find and replace" in a word processor.213.249.225.149 (talk) 17:27, 6 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Mystery NYC Subway Images edit

Here I am, once again asking for the locations of pics you've taken of the New York City Subway system, and if necessary other subway systems.

There are certainly some others I'm wondering about, and they're not all taken by you. I'll have to ask about those another time. ----DanTD (talk) 17:52, 21 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

The First one is easy, it's the Far Rockaway – Mott Avenue terminal. You can see the signs on the columns. Acps110 (talkcontribs) 22:45, 21 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
I didn't see them until later on, but thanks anyhow to both of you. The R143 train I added to a general list that was incomplete, and I forgot it wasn't one of the ones you took. Sorry. And as far as those three images from the 207th Street Yard go, I wouldn't be so sure they're deleted. All three were renamed, and at least two of them were sent to the commons. ----DanTD (talk) 01:17, 22 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Another one edit

Here's another one I've been wondering about that's already in the commmons; File:IMG 1730.jpg. I know you didn't take this, but other than being a 6 train, I can't seem to find out where this is either. ----DanTD (talk) 18:25, 22 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

ALP-45DP edit

I've reverted your last minor edit to ALP-45DP to reinstate the redlink to Selkirk Yard as per WP:REDDEAL. I've done a search, and it comes up several times, with a few other pages having red-links. I suggest it should be created as a simple redirect page, possibly to Selkirk, New York, which is at least a quick way of getting its location (once I've asked my wife yet again where Albany is -- I'm British, she's from Yonkers ;-).

If Selkirk, New York is used, I'd suggest creating a "Selkirk Yard", "Selkirk Rail Yard" or "Rail yard" section (with perhaps a {{anchor}} for "Selkirk Yard") so that it gets a positive hit.

An alternative redirection target page might be the Selkirk hurdle, which doesn't currently cite the rail yard, but I assume gives the explanation for the ALP-45DP's circuitous route. Then again the red-link(s) could be eliminated with a piped line as: "by way of Selkirk Yard". Tim PF (talk) 16:34, 23 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Replaceable fair use File:New Dual Mode Locomotive.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:New Dual Mode Locomotive.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Train2104 (talk • contribs • count) 00:42, 2 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

    • Go ahead... delete it... The image is really useless at this point.

I do not know how active you are these days, but many (if not all) of your photos are lacking descriptions (see Special:ListFiles/Fan_Railer). File permission problem with File:7 Extension.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:7 Extension.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 09:12, 28 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

So you're telling me, that for a photo that I myself shot, I have to now send a copy of me sending myself the permission to upload said photo to Wiki releasing it to the public domain. That's some bullshit. Next time I might as well withhold the information that I published it to my Facebook page as well, and see if that saves me this trouble. Replaceable fair use File:Metrolink EMD F125 Spirit.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Metrolink EMD F125 Spirit.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. UP Donation Special Pics + Apology edit

So I noticed you have been uploading a number of pics lately, and I appreciate that. Here's my one request if possible: can you also upload more pics from the UP Donation Special? So far, I noticed that you only uploaded a pic of the 5511 from the move, which is excellent because no pic of 5511 existed until you stepped in. I would appreciate a few more from that special, such as 3985, 6936, the E9B shell, CNW 401, etc. You probably know what I'm looking for from this, so I hope you can fulfill this.

Also do you accept apologies? Because I would like to sincerely apologize for my behavior on your YouTube a few months ago. I didn't mean to be an asshole, but due to my ADHD, my unnecessary replies of stating the obvious and/or stupid questions pop-up occasionally, and I often get offended easily over sarcastic replies. I am willing to take another chance and come back to your channel, as you have the best videos of transit content, along with others like the simulators. But I can only return as long as you're willing to give your former subscriber a second chance like I'm giving you another chance as well. Davidng913 (talk) 15:49, 2 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
