Fluorine FAC edit

Hi there, we are in the process of taking Fluorine through Featured Article Candidacy.

1. We are using the image you took of the F2 cell room (very helpful, btw). Can you confirm taking it? Also, do you know if there would be any reason a release would be needed? (We are only interested in the copyright status, not if F2 approved you showing their plant to the world...I think.) I guess I'm just trying to see if there is anything to worry about...as this article will arrive on the front page eventually.

2. If you have time, a review would be appreciated.

Andy, appreciate your response. Trying to figure out copyright status of this upload you did.

Response... edit

Hi TCO. My IP address is blocked; if I can resolve that I will look over the Fluorine page. To confirm the permission for the photo of the cell room, the best way is to e-mail the company (info at f2chemicals dot com). I will warn them to expect it. F2Andy (talk) 09:30, 13 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Will do. Thank you Andy.TCO (talk) 12:09, 13 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

fluorine review edit

Hi Andy:

I'm putting some serious work into the fluorine article. Wonder if you could peer review it or FAC review it when it is ready (maybe a month away). Just giving you a heads up.TCO (talk) 03:48, 29 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Response edit

Hi TCO

No idea what the difference is between peer and FAC review, but happy to check it over. F2Andy (talk) 10:14, 3 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Confusingly, FAC (Featured Article Candidacy) is pretty close to what the outside world would call a peer review (for a publication). And Wikipedia's "Peer review" is close to what the outside world would call "having some people check your paper out before you submit it to a journal". Don't sweat it though. A review is a review!TCO (Reviews needed) 16:16, 4 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:Cobalt fluoride reactor at F2 Chemicals Ltd.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Cobalt fluoride reactor at F2 Chemicals Ltd.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 14:14, 30 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
