ArbCom 2018 election voter message edit
Hello, ExcitedEngineer. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Google Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks! edit

Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.
I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. From my own experience, Google Code-In can be fun, you can make several new friends, attract new people to your wiki and make them part of your community.

List of Jet Airliners edit
Dear ExcitedEngineer, I have changed France back to Euoropean on List of Jet Airliners: this issue has a history that you may not be aware of. I did not revert it for the sake of your editing statistics. Please refer to Talk:Airbus#The Nationality of Airbus and Societas Europaea (SE) before changing the nationality again. Technically, Airbus is Dutch but is legally European, the Netherlands provides the state laws for its incorporation. SE allows for this. Multinational means nothing and if Airbus is called Multinational, so too must Boeing, which makes little sense. Many companies are European, if you drive a BMW or a Mercedes, it is European SE, rather than German. The EU is the political entity that allows for this and is correct. - Determining the nationality of a certain product can be tricky. I saw the discussion you linked, and it looks like a case of no consensus to me. As pointed out in the discussion you referenced, Europe is not a country, so European cannot be a nationality. Otherwise we could list the nationality of the Mitsubishi Spacejet as Asian. The current legal form is somewhat meaningless as a company may set up HQ in a tax haven and adjust its legal form accordingly. The reason multinational seems appropriate is because Airbus originated as cooperation by companies from several countries. As for Boeing, that's a company founded in the United States, that designs and builds all of its aircraft in the United States, so clearly not multi-national. You'll also have a very hard time finding anyone referring to BMW's and MB's as anything other than German (even if they're assembled somewhere else). An easy way out of this would be for the table to state countries of assembly instead of only country, so as to remove the ambiguity and political sensitivity.
