Your opinion has been duly noted

edit

Re [1]:

  • You shouldn't reply to AIAV reports on the AIAV page. Everything on that page gets quickly deleted, often within minutes, so your opinion will most likely never be read. The talk page of the reporting user is a good place to comment.
Please try to only warn other editors about violating actual policies and guidelines, and avoid warning other editors about violating policies and guidelines that you just made up.
  • The edits in question ([3], [4]) were most certainly vandalism. A drive and a driver are two quite different things.
Might I suggest that you, and editor with 371 edits who has been editing Wikipedia for 32 days, should not be lecturing an editor who has made 55,647 edits and has been here for 14 years? --Guy Macon (talk) 03:17, 4 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
i was an IP (on itwiki) since 2004, so I only know the itwiki policies...:@Guy Macon:--Ḥdiddān 06:11, 4 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
OK. Thanks for letting me know so I don't treat you like a newbie.
I don't know whether the rules are different on itwki, but on enwiki there is no requirement to notify or warn vandalism-only accounts reported at AIAV and DBN and AGF do not apply to such users. If a new user has only posted spam or only vandalized, you just report them and they get blocked without warning.
So it is never appropriate to tell someone reporting a vandalism-only account "the user has not been notified". Again, you were mistaken in thinking that notification was required. --Guy Macon (talk) 14:24, 4 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
