Welcome to Wikipedia, Eric Jack Nash! I'm Celestianpower. I noticed that you were new and/or have yet to receive any messages so I just thought I'd pop in to say "hello". Hello. Wikipedia can be a little intimidating at first, since it's so big but we won't bite so Be Bold and get what you know down in microchips! If you do make a mistake, that's fine, we'll assume good faith and just correct you: it'll take a few seconds maximum! Here, however, are a few links to get you started:

There are lots of policies and guidelines to get to grips with but they all make your life easier and your stay more fun in the long run. 2006 is already linked where is states the release date. The page only needs one link for 2006, one of those needs to be removed. Bignole 18:00, 10 March 2006 (UTC)
- I don't know if it is preferable to link to a general page (i.e. 2006 the year) or to a specific page (i.e. films of 2006). You may need to requisition a help bot for that. Otherwise, since they are going to two separate pages I don't know of a reason to not have both. Bignole 19:57, 10 March 2006 (UTC)

Please refer to WP:MOS-L for more information about having too much links in an article.
Internal links
The use of links to other Wikipedia articles, for example, Ant, is encouraged. Use the links for all words and terms that are relevant to the article.
The purpose of internal links is to allow readers to easily and conveniently follow their curiosity or research to other articles. These links should be included where it is most likely that a reader would want to follow them elsewhere — for example, in article introductions, the beginnings of new sections, table cells, and image captions. Generally, where it is likely that a reader may wish to read about another topic, the reader should not have to hunt for a link elsewhere in the page.
On the other hand, do not make too many links. An article may be considered overlinked if any of the following is true:
* more than 10% of the words are contained in links; * it has more links than lines; * a link is repeated in the same article (although there may be case for duplicating an important link that is distant from the previous occurrence); * more than 10% of the links are to articles that don't exist; or * low added-value items are linked without reason — such as, 1995, 1980s, and 20th century.
This also applies to tables, considered by themselves.
As a general rule, do not put links in the title; however, this may be acceptable with complex titles or verbose leads, such as those concerning multiple concepts.

Electrical engineering comments edit
Hi Eric,
Thanks for your comments. I was mindful of building services when revising the article and so the article does actually mention building services (although not in those words) and has done so since August of 2005. Quoting from the article:

Re: Supernova edit
I wasn't aware that there were two bands by the same name. I dismissed the rewritten article as a hoax. I looked at the pop/punk band's Myspace page, and as far as I can tell they're not a notable band by Wikipedia standards. - Are you familiar with The Beatles line-ups? The rock family tree in The Quarrymen is continued in The Beatles line-ups. If by missing you mean that Ringo Starr isn't listed, then the reason is because he is in the continuation in the other line-up/rock family tree. Maybe we need to note that it is continued there. - Ahhh... I see now. My point is that as it seems impossible to put the whole Quarrymen line-up on The Beatles line-ups page, is there a way of directing readers to The Quarrymen without putting the line-up on there? "See: The Quarrymen", might be better. At the moment it looks as though McCartney and Harrison were in it right at the beginning. --andreasegde 18:29, 23 September 2006 (UTC)

The lead article of the Project recently lost its FA status, and now some of the other articles are being reviewed. Citations and references within articles are again the major concern. Contributors who have literature (books, magazines, links, etc.) are especially needed to provide the necessary citations. It is not enough for editors to know the facts; they need to be backed up by other sources. All help, both within the articles and the discussion, would be appreciated.
If you've just joined, add your name to the Participants section of Wikipedia:WikiProject The Beatles. You'll get a mention in the next issue of the Newsletter and get it delivered as desired. Also, please include your own promotions and awards in future issues. Don't be shy! Again, the issue of the month is inline citations. A Day in the Life, A Hard Day's Night (song), and Get Back have all been defeatured, as they failed to satisfy criterion 1(c) of What is a featured article?, and other song FAs are due for the chopping block. Inline citations are an important aspect of articles—they ensure verifiability and reliability, and they remove original research. Additionally, they give readers the option to read the original source material and view it within context. Basically:

Wherever possible, editors should help to trim down on list-like prose within Beatles articles. They should convert list-like sections into fluent, cohesive prose which ties an article's sections together. Lists make articles disjointed, awkward, and difficult to read. Wikipedia's standards are improving all the time, with the result that many articles in The Beatles Wikiproject are being nominated for review of their FA and GA status - and many are losing that accolade. It is difficult, with such a large number of articles and the ease with which editors may make changes which are detrimental, to maintain the standard of articles, let alone improve them. As ever, members efforts are both appreciated and needed to keep the Project on course.

If one is to be mercenary about the subject, it should be noted that Paul McCartney is going to be more noteworthy than usual in the near future as his divorce case comes to court. In that case it is great to note that a small group of Project Members (plus another individual who does not feel compelled to register himself despite important contributions) have worked very hard, and in an atmosphere of good humour, to take the McCartney piece to a succesful Good Article nomination. Perhaps this is the method to use for future articles, a small dedicated team concentrating on one subject at a time. Of course, all members are invited to join any existing group or even go about forming their own. Please note any such action in the Project Log. Redlink removal on List of text-based MMORPGs edit
Wikipedia is not an Internet directory, nor an indiscriminate collection of information - if we're including games that aren't notable enough to have Wikipedia articles, then the page becomes one or the other of these, depending on whether or not we externally link to them. --McGeddon 11:22, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
- I don't know - the redlink issue itself is fairly clear; there's no point making a redlink for a minor MMORPG if the created article would immediately fail notability guidelines and be deleted. Making them into external links would break the "not an Internet directory" guideline - a huge list of unlinked MMORPG titles (with or without descriptions) is possibly encyclopaedic, if it makes a good attempt at being exhaustive, and sheds some light on the subject, but I think it'd have to be an "Internet directory" to some extent, to be at all useful. --McGeddon 21:34, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

Someone has a podcast/blog/vlog and they are discussing a person/film/historical event/album/whatever. Is that podcast/blog/vlog a significant element in the history of that person/film/whatever?
