Hello and welcome edit

Hello EmilyThe Wikipedian. Thanks for your contribution starting the article Dreissena rostriformis distincta. If you look you will see that I expanded it quite a lot. Are you particularly interested in freshwater mussels? Or bivalves in general? In case you are, I am giving you this invitation:

Speedy deletion nomination of Pinctada longisquamosa edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Pinctada longisquamosa requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Wikicology (talk) 23:15, 26 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Pinctada longisquamosa article rescued now! edit

Help again Emily. I saw this listed as a new bivalve article by a 'bot (a piece of robotic software) we have, so I went to look at it. It was just a few words and was in danger of being deleted so I added to it until it looked respectable. (Take a look). If you want to start an article with just one line and then add to it over time, the place to do this is in your "sandbox" which you will see listed on your user page. It is important not to put your work up into article space until it is fit to function as part of the encyclopedia. If you need me to explain stuff to you I would be happy to do so, just drop me a line on my talk page. Many thanks, Invertzoo (talk) 13:39, 27 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Just a quick note edit

Hi again Emily. I just wanted to say that Wikipedia is, above all else, a collaboration. When someone leaves a personal note on your talk page (as opposed to a form letter), it is considered polite to reply in some way if you can, either on this page or on the talk page of the person who wrote to you. I am looking forward to hearing from you if possible. Thanks, Invertzoo (talk) 19:00, 27 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
