December 2016 edit

Hello, I'm RSTech1. I wanted to let you know that I removed one or more external links you added to Louise Bourgeois because they seemed inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thanks.   Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to Agnes Martin. Wikipedia is not a collection of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links may include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. RSTech1 (talk) 16:49, 13 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to Yayoi Kusama. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Thank you. RSTech1 (talk) 16:49, 13 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you insert a spam link, as you did with this edit to Apichatpong Weerasethakul. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted, preventing anyone from linking to them from all Wikimedia sites as well as potentially being penalized by search engines. Welcome! edit

Hello, Elizabethroberttate, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions, especially your edits to Carnation, Lily, Lily, Rose. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few links to pages you might find helpful:

You may also want to take the Wikipedia Adventure, an interactive tour that will help you learn the basics of editing Wikipedia. You can visit The Teahouse to ask questions or seek help.

Please remember to sign your messages on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. Again, welcome!

I am sorry about your lack of a warm welcome to Wikipedia. Your addition to Carnation, Lily, Lily, Rose looks helpful to me. Good to have someone associated with a gallery adding information about its holdings. Please don't be put off. Theramin (talk) 01:39, 23 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

October 2018 edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing because it appears that you are not here to build an encyclopedia.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Drmies (talk) 15:24, 19 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

Apologies for the confusion. I withdraw my statement about being blocked in 2016. You are correct I was not blocked in 2016 and had only received warnings. Please review my corrected plea : After receiving a few warnings for misconduct, I received a 'Welcome!' message from Theramin saying: 'I am sorry about your lack of a warm welcome to Wikipedia. Your addition to Carnation, Lily, Lily, Rose looks helpful to me. Good to have someone associated with a gallery adding information about its holdings. Please don't be put off. Theramin (talk) 01:39, 23 December 2016 (UTC)'.' Now Please take second to look at the links I am adding. They are educational, non-commercial and informative video interviews with the artists in question and who have works in Tate's collection. Tate is a non-profit organisation that seeks to bring enjoyment of the arts to everyone. Please take the time to review my edits and consider unblocking me. Thank you. Decline reason:

There are a number of problems with your edits, particularly in the context of our policies Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure and Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not. I am not satisfied that your unblock request addressed these problems in sufficient detail. AGK ■ 20:45, 31 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

  • Tate may be non-profit, but that doesn't take away from the fact that these links still function as promotion, or that this is the only thing that you have done on Wikipedia. WP:ELNO and WP:ELYES do not explicitly condemn or allow links to interviews, meaning an argument should be made on a case-by-case basis, with arguments, and with statements about content.
