Sockpuppet investigation

edit

An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/100.8.174.93, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.

EditBer (talk) 20:36, 10 June 2020 (UTC) There has been no use of multiple accounts. This is a false accusation. We have played by the rules and cite all of our sources, but it was once again rejected. Doesn't seem fair. EditBer (talk) 20:36, 10 June 2020 (UTC)EditBerReply

Connection to Bergen Community College‎?

Do you have a connection to Bergen Community College‎? ElKevbo (talk) 21:11, 10 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Please stop editing until you answer this question. We have policies that forbid undisclosed paid editing and discourage conflicts of interest. ElKevbo (talk) 21:43, 10 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
Additionally, you have used "we" several times in your editing. "Role" or "shared" accounts are not allowed; each person editing must create his or her own account. ElKevbo (talk) 21:45, 10 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
Yes please don't edit until you answer. Signed,The4lines |||| (You Asked?) (What I have Done.) 21:48, 10 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Managing a conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, EditBer. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Bergen Community College, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Cabayi (talk) 08:42, 11 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

  Hello, I noticed that you may have recently made edits while logged out. Wikipedia's policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow the use of both an account and an IP address by the same person in the same setting and doing so may result in your account being blocked from editing. Additionally, making edits while logged out reveals your IP address, which may allow others to determine your location and identity. If this was not your intention, please remember to log in when editing. Thank you. Cabayi (talk) 08:43, 11 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
