PD images
When releasing an image to the public domain you can mark it with the code {{PD-self}} It lets the software sort out the images better. just put the code in the text box when you upload it. Thanks. There is also {{GFDL}} to licence the image under the same licence as wikipedia and so allow distribution while retaining copyright. Thanks Zeimusu | (Talk page) 07:21, 23 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Moving Deep Ellum
Hi, and thanks for you work on the Dallas, Texas neighborhoods.
I do disagree with your move of Deep Ellum to Deep Ellum, Dallas, Texas both (1) because a google search seems to turn up no other Deep Ellums in the world, thus there is no need for the more complex title and (2) because the cut-and-paste move eliminates the page history (which is sketchy because our license, the GFDL, requires it).
The appropriate thing to do when trying to move a page to an already existing location is to request a move at Wikipedia:Requested moves. A week or so after listing there, an administrator sees if there is consensus on the article's talk page to move, and then, in this case, would swap redirect and article locations, with page history, talk page and all. What I'm going to do is place a {{move}} on both articles and list it at WP:RM so an administrator can fix it at whichever location is decided by consensus. --Laura Scudder | Talk 15:31, 16 July 2005 (UTC)
Park cities photos on your website
Could you release the Park Cities photos on your website to Wikipedia so I can put them in the relevant articles? Thanks in advance. By the way, I think what you have marked as SMU on your site is actually Highland Park Presbyterian Church (on University just east of Preston.) I don't think the HPUMC church that's on SMU is Gothic-looking like the one in the photo, but then again I don't go by it very often and certainly don't have occasion to look up to the belltower/steeple/whatever that is when driving by. --YixilTesiphon Say hello Consider my Wikiproject idea 05:25, 7 December 2005 (UTC)
Thanks for the quick response, and I'm glad I was right about the churches. As you've probably guessed I live in the Park Cities, so naturally I have an interest in the Dallas-area articles. I tried to get a picture of the famous HP christmas lights, but I found out my camera can't handle streetlamps at night. --YixilTesiphon Say hello Consider my Wikiproject idea 05:34, 7 December 2005 (UTC)
Many thanks for the pictures. --YixilTesiphon Say hello Consider my Wikiproject idea 06:02, 7 December 2005 (UTC)
Thanks so much :D.. I also now see the nowiki thing. Appreciate your help. Drumguy8800 06:05, 7 December 2005 (UTC)
I'm not a box-talented person, so if you could do that that would be awesome. Thanks. --YixilTesiphon Say hello Consider my Wikiproject idea 06:21, 7 December 2005 (UTC)
DFW Template Change
Derek:
I really like your Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex template - great job! I moved Frisco up to the next higher category as it now has 71,000+ residents and was still listed in the 10K - 50K section.
flags of Highland Park/University Park
Highland park flag.gif & Image:Flag of University Park, Texas.gif These two flag images appear to be the same. Since you uploaded them both, I figured you know whats what up and can fix it, or atleast explain it better. Cornell Rockey 21:47, 10 December 2005 (UTC)
Dallas Population
Thanks for fixing my edits to the page. Now that you mention it I do recall reading about that somewhere. Thanks for your nice words, the NTTA articles are still a work in progress. Keep up the good work! Dustimagic 17:44, 18 December 2005 (UTC)
Dallas, Texas article
Yeah, I think there should be a summarized version (shorter than currently) in the Districts and communities section. I think it is too long currently and should only talk about the seven core areas of Dallas, like you said. If you only talk about these seven districts/areas, people won't be tempted to talk about their neighborhoods or communities in there. This was a problem on the Houston page before and it got huge. I guess you can move the Dallas template back under that section when all the text for the non-core areas areas are deleted. I haven't even got time to write one for Houston for the districts. I did however, wrote the Downtown and Uptown under the "Architecture" section about buildings. I would do this for Dallas but I really don't know anything about Dallas or its architecture.
Anyway, I like what you have done to the template for the DFW Metroplex. It reminds me of the template I designed for Template:Texas before there was a war over it because some people thought it was too colorful and that the red color hurt their eyes (yeah right). The Texas template used to be red, white, and blue. I used to edit under a different name back then. I just recently redesigned the templates for Texas (minor), Template:Houston-Sugar Land-Baytown MSA, and Template:Houston, Texas so they have some type of uniformity. –RJN 22:33, 23 December 2005 (UTC)
- Hmm. I was RC patrolling when I saw you removing the content, and I reverted when I saw that the article was being replaced with a redlink, but if it had been agreed to beforehand, sure, go ahead and revert back. Sorry about that. Titoxd(?!? - help us) 05:19, 24 December 2005 (UTC)
Please revise the population data per the most recent North Central Texas Council Of Governments population estimates dated 3/26/2006.
The 2006 Population estimate of Dallas is now 1,260,950. Also, The DFW Region is 16 counties, not 12, and the total metro population is 6,242,800. Here is a link to the study website for documtntation purposes. http://www.dfwinfo.com/ris/demographics/population/2006popestimates.pdf
Please update, I have made these changes once before, but they have been overriden by you, we need to keep this data current, 2004 estimates are still reflected. Thank you.
Comment on Wolf FP nomination
Hi Drumguy--I did see that article on the depth of field camera. That stuff is so cool! And I agree that the image should be cleaned up... if I get a chance, I'll see what I can do. ~MDD4696 (talk • contribs) 09:38, 27 December 2005 (UTC)

POTD formatting code isn't in just one place
Thanks for your input so far, though I couldn't find the code of which you spoke, except as follows: the source for the template:POTD looks like this: {{Wikipedia:POTD/{{CURRENTMONTHNAME}} {{CURRENTDAY}}, {{CURRENTYEAR}}|<nowiki>{{{1}}}}}</nowiki> The formatting seems to be in each seperate image page called. Any ideas? Go for it! 18:42, 5 January 2006 (UTC)
I have another markup challenge for you
Is there any way to get two columns of boxes to line up the bottom edges of the last 2 boxes in the columns? We need one of the boxes elongated vertically so it's bottom edge matches the adjacent box's bottom edge, in order to eliminate white space. This is one of the main requests critiquers of the draft keep making. Let me know what you come up with. Thanks for looking into this stuff for me. I really appreciate it. Go for it! 18:42, 5 January 2006 (UTC)
Sorry 'bout that
Yep, I accidentally posted those to your user page. I blame it on sleep deprivation. Won't happen again. By the way thanks for your input on the Main Page redesign! Go for it! 12:08, 6 January 2006 (UTC)
Class=
Where are classes defined? In .CSS files?
I've been going over the Italian main page source code, and I can't find the classes that are in there defined anywhere.
When you pull the Italian pages into the English WP, the boxes turn out rectangular instead of round. I'm thinking it's because the classes can't access their definitions. Is this correct?

Thanks for the tutorial. It helped a lot. BTW, check out the latest version of Wikipedia:WikiProject Usability/Main Page/Draft Go for it! 13:34, 9 January 2006 (UTC)
Kmf164 found the code that gives round corners. It wasn't a class after all. But I still want to find out what the classes with the round terms (like "radius") actually do on the Italian WP. Go for it! 13:39, 9 January 2006 (UTC)
I need help on Help:Contents
I'd like to add a left margin to everything under each of the purple headings, but without affecting the position of the purple (h2) headings. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to do it. Can you help?
I was going to use colons to indent everything, but that's just too cumbersome, and it doesn't work for indenting the (h3) headings. Go for it! 00:25, 14 January 2006 (UTC)
I found a way to do it with "padding-left:". If you have a better/easier way, please let me in on the secret. Thanks. --Go for it! 01:02, 14 January 2006 (UTC)
Toucan FPC
You said that when the image was in an article you would support it. The second version is now in Chestnut-mandibled Toucan. Raven4x4x 09:11, 14 January 2006 (UTC)

Firefox icon
Exactly what's up with the firefox icon used on the user template box thing..? It looks like just the tail or something. drumguy8800 - speak? 03:36, 18 January 2006 (UTC)
- As noted in the image description, it's the tail from this GNU GPL icon combined with the non-trademarked, tri-licensed Mozilla globe icon. —David Levy 04:01, 18 January 2006 (UTC)
Do you think I should go for it?
I'm thinking about requesting adminship, and have written a draft of my request. I would appreciate it if you would proofread it for me, and let me know what you think on its talk page. Thank you. Sincerely, --Go for it! 23:48, 18 January 2006 (UTC)
Gecko FPC
Hello Drumguy8800, could you sign your FPC nomination. Have a good day! --Dschwen 23:49, 18 January 2006 (UTC)
Please help me keep the candidates on an equal footing
Note that drafts A and B both have discussion pages that redirect to the main discussion page where voting takes place. The other drafts, the way DavidLevy lists them, don't.
To be a fair contest, all the candidates should be listed the same. I'm for Draft B, but I still think the other drafts deserve the same chance to win. The way I listed them, they all have talk pages that redirect. So please keep monitoring the project page, to make sure it remains fair. Thank you. --Go for it! 21:29, 22 January 2006 (UTC)
Concerning your draft
I noticed that In the news and Did you know do not update. Would you like me to fix those so that they do? --Go for it! 02:05, 23 January 2006 (UTC)
I tried to fix those, but the font-sizes of the headings are different than than in the templates, and I also can't seem to get the div format of the templates to work with the chart format in your draft. --Go for it! 08:10, 23 January 2006 (UTC)
As per your suggestion, I've archived the discussion at Main Page Redesign
You made a good point. --Go for it! 00:35, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
Main Page Drafts
I've added links on each draft at for example Draft 6A to all of the other drafts, it's really the only way to make comparisons. If you think this is stupid then let me know, otherwise I'll keep it up. hydnjo talk 03:42, 25 January 2006 (UTC)

A discussion has begun on how to handle the official election for replacing the Main Page. To make sure it is set up sensibly, and according to participants' consensus, your input is needed. --Go for it! 09:02, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
January 26, 2006
I deleted it because, unless thing shave changed, we don't have article for individuall days in that way, we have January 26 and 2006, but not a combination any more than we have January 25, 2006, or September 18, 1748. Why not add the fire to the January 26 article? -R. fiend 20:46, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
- OK, do what you like, though it's obviously more suited for wikinews, and, in my opinion, a generally bad idea for wikipedia. But the sort of thing that should be discussed in some forum, and admittedly CSD is not the place for that. -R. fiend 23:12, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
