editHi, Dog purse, and welcome to Wikipedia! I'm sorry to have reverted your note about the health benefits of hiking, but as you probably saw, policy is pretty strict about that.
I think it's a great idea to add more information there, though. Here's a WP:MEDRS-compliant source about a different activity, Nordic walking, which mentions in passing that brisk walking is unanimously agreed to be healthful; here's another great source, unfortunately mostly in Greek, saying that hiking (defined as walking for 4 to 11 hours at a moderate pace for one to several days) is the kind of exercise health organizations recommend. You could find some information in these sources and try adding it again.
