Autopatrolled

Hello, this is just to let you know that I have granted you the "autopatrolled" permission. This won't affect your editing, it just automatically marks any page you create as patrolled, benefiting new page patrollers. Please remember:

  • This permission does not give you any special status or authority
  • Submission of inappropriate material may lead to its removal
  • You may wish to display the {{Autopatrolled}} top icon and/or the {{User wikipedia/autopatrolled}} userbox on your user page
  • If, for any reason, you decide you do not want the permission, let me know and I can remove it
If you have any questions about the permission, don't hesitate to ask. Otherwise, happy editing! Acalamari 18:47, 26 January 2011 (UTC)

physics

Hi Mark, I posted a request for comment at wikiproject physics concerning the role of infinitesimals in physics but no luck so far. Any ideas as to how to develop this further? It would be useful to have more of a physical presence at infinitesimal. Tkuvho (talk) 05:48, 24 March 2011 (UTC)

Not a clue, sorry. —Mark Dominus (talk) 07:02, 24 March 2011 (UTC)

Megan E LaBonte

Why is she not a notable resident? She is much better known in Northampton than Jose, Mary R, or Griffin.? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Oneswithfunes (talkcontribs) 15:46, 24 March 2011 (UTC)

"A person is presumed to be notable if he or she has been the subject of multiple published secondary sources which are reliable, intellectually independent of each other, and independent of the subject." Please see WP:BIO for full details. —Mark Dominus (talk) 16:54, 24 March 2011 (UTC)

Sharp P vs Number P

I reverted your renaming of Sharp P to Number P. Sharp P is the more common name for that class, and so I think we should call the article Sharp P. For example, note that similarly named classes like #AC0 and #L are usually called "Sharp AC0" and "Sharp L" [1]. If you disagree, we can discuss this on the article's talk page (or here). --Robin (talk) 20:48, 6 April 2011 (UTC)

It's okay with me. Thanks for your attention. —Mark Dominus (talk) 14:43, 7 April 2011 (UTC)

F. W. Bain

Thanks for the query - I have now included a brief mention of his football "career" with citations. -- Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 13:00, 22 April 2011 (UTC)

I see that several of the books referred to in the article also says that he was a member of the Oxford University Football Club. (see here and here (type "football" in the "From inside the book" box).) -- Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 13:16, 22 April 2011 (UTC)
Many thanks for your reply. —Mark Dominus (talk) 20:29, 26 April 2011 (UTC)

Warning template

Please actually look at the edit history of a page before adding warning templates to user pages. I did not add inappropriate edit summaries to functional programming. "copyedit" is a perfectly reasonable summary for correcting someone's poor grammar thank you very much. See Copy editing UKWikiGuy (talk) 01:21, 7 June 2011 (UTC)

My mistake. I thought you had also been responsible for the immediately previous edit. —Mark Dominus (talk) 02:55, 7 June 2011 (UTC)

Libyan civil war listed at Redirects for discussion

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Libyan civil war. Since you had some involvement with the Libyan civil war redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion (if you have not already done so). Ryan Vesey (talk) 18:12, 12 June 2011 (UTC)

How's the project going?

I like the "current project" described on your user page. How are you getting on with that?  :-) Jowa fan (talk) 04:49, 18 September 2011 (UTC)

Not as well as I would have liked, since I stopped working for a big university with a big library, but I'm still getting along. Thanks for asking. —Mark Dominus (talk) 04:56, 18 September 2011 (UTC)

New RS on Sieve of Eratosthenes folklore rhyme

Please excuse my intrusion, but maybe you didn't notice there was a new and solid RS found on the matter: it is the famous Clocksin and Mellish 1981 "Programming in Prolog" textbook, which has a section titled "Sift the Two's and Sift the Three's" (sic), which I take as evidence for that rhyme's folklore status, and its origins back long time ago judging from its archaic spelling. I think this new evidence calls for a re-vote on the matter of its exclusion. Your renewed opinion in light of this find will be much appreciated. WillNess (talk) 21:08, 9 October 2011 (UTC)

I saw that, but decided not to respond because your reply was so obnoxious. —Mark Dominus (talk) 16:17, 10 October 2011 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification

Hi, this message is to let you know about disambiguation links you've recently created. A link to a disambiguation page is almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. For more information, see the FAQ or drop a line at the DPL WikiProject.

Pointed hat conundrum?

Mark, you suggested a merge with conical hat. Please see the talk page here [2] and let me know what you think now. I'm willing to work on this as much as I can, when I can. Djathinkimacowboy 11:16, 4 December 2011 (UTC)

Sorry, I was hasty and see concial redirects to pointy. Well the whole article needs work anyway. The inaccuracies are difficult and manifold. Djathinkimacowboy 11:18, 4 December 2011 (UTC)
