CFIF edit

Hi Displaced Brit,

I see on user:CFIF's talk page, you have asked for an apology for an incident where he accused you of bad faith. It appears he has apologised and you are demanding further apologies. Without getting into this situation further, I would ask you to just assume good faith from this user and accept his apology at face value. He is a good editor; your own vote for deletion was in good faith, and it really just seems to have been a misunderstanding that got out of hand. Can we declare a truce?

I hope this incident will not sour you on the Wiki experience, but it really does just seem like a misunderstanding. Pax? (Please note that I will try to get back to you as soon as possible, but my PC is apparently dying or at death's door).

Please note also that Wikipedia is not a battlefield, and you should assume good faith, not insincerity. Ashibaka tock 03:36, 15 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

User:CFIF is at it again edit

User:CFIF is at it again with his unfounded accusations. [1] Apparently, he seems to not directly contact users, but complains to administrators. I am amazed he has not done what seems to be his favoured tactic and has braned me a sockpuppet of a user who hasn't been active in a year. And now he wants to be an adminstrator? Surely his behaviour really needs to be looked into with a fine toothed comb, as he seems to be a problem user. Displaced Brit 03:36, 16 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi D.B.
Please assume good faith and let this incident pass. I feel there is no need to continue an arguement over a mistake for which user:CFIF has already apologised. The sooner everyone lets this incident go, the sooner we can all get back to building the encyclopedia, which as I know you are aware, is the purpose of this site. Thanks for your continued contributions and happy editing! :) --Firsfron of Ronchester 04:52, 16 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

The User:CFIF and his band of blaggers edit

The following was to go on the talk page of User:Firsfron who is obviously in league with User:CFIF in an attempt to muzzle those who do not agree with them:

User:CFIF is at it yet again. Please see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of myNetworkTV affiliates where he/she states "I'm not allowed to say anything else or this user will harrass and stalk me." Do I have to now look and see if he/she has edited the article before I do anything to it? He/She seems to be jumping to conclusions yet again. I would like to have this user's behaviour investigated and properly sanctioned. I nominated the article for deletion because it has merit, and should be merged into the main article about the television channel. His comments may also skew the discourse in the article deletion proceedings, as well. I am not going to leave Wikipedia and hope that you can point me in the proper direction to have this problematic user dealt with. Displaced Brit 04:40, 19 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

User:Firsfron, I will also be reporting you to the proper Wikipedia authorities for your abuse of power. I was not trying to prove a point. Apparently it is people like you, and I am being rather chariatable here, that seem to judge without asking questions. I do hope that you read the above paragraph and in future LEAVE ME THE BLOODY HELL ALONE! I feel that you are not a neutral arbiter, and in fact are in league with this User:CFIF person, again I am being chariatible here! Displaced Brit 04:40, 19 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi D.B.,
I am not in league with User:CFIF; in fact, I have often disagreed with him. Your nomination of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of myNetworkTV affiliates appears to me to have been a quite pointedly bad faith nomination intended to goad user:CFIF, and I see no reason to put up with disruption. You are free to edit when your three hour block expires, and a three hour block is hardly "muzzling" anyone. I bear you no ill will and I hope you will continue to edit Wikipedia when you block expires. Take care, --Firsfron of Ronchester 05:08, 19 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
I promise you the first thing I will do is have an investigation launched in both your behaviour and the behaviour of User:CFIF. I will not be bullied! Displaced Brit 05:20, 19 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

You have been temporarily blocked from editing for disrupting Wikipedia by making personal attacks. If you wish to make useful contributions, you are welcome to come back after the block expires. —Mets501 (talk) 18:33, 19 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

  • DISRUPTION?! I say you sir/madam are the disrupter. I was right now attempting to report User:CFIF at Wikipedia:Personal attack intervention noticeboard. I DEMAND that User:CFIF's full range of behaviour not just with me, but with all others who had the misfortune of encountering him/her. He/She has a history of choosing various administratiors in the hopes that they will not notice his/her prior bad acts and silence the person who he/she is engaged in his/her current row with. You sir/madam are the latest one he/she has chosen to be his/her hatchet man. User:CFIF needs to be fully investigated and properly censured. Given his behaviours, I am starting to wonder if he/she is suffering from some sort of parinoia, as he/she said "I am in fear of retaliation for this call for help, so I am editing this anonymously in hopes he won't find out and jump on me for this. --CFIF ☎ (as an anon IP)" - again, playing the victim! He/She needs to be stopped forthwith! Displaced Brit 18:40, 19 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

It's baaaaack! ... your 2¢ would be appreciated. --Dennette 15:30, 21 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Andromeda Galaxy in fiction edit

Hi,

There a page at Andromeda Galaxy in fiction which already has an extensive collection of information topic. Please could you place the fictional material there rather than on the Andromeda Galaxy page? Thank you. — RJH (talk) 16:27, 21 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Inappropriate sock tagging edit

If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, you will be blocked again. Thanks, OhNoitsJamie Talk 21:05, 25 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Blocked edit

For your continued disruption, specifically including [2], [3], [4], [5], [6] and [7] all of which were thoroughly inappropriate and, so far as I can imagine, done purely out of spite, I have blocked you for a week. If, and only if, you can edit placidly, civilly, appropriately and in good humour at the expiry of the block, you will be welcome back. If you can't, the blocks will quickly get much longer. -Splash - tk 22:04, 25 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Blocked edit

You have edited almost exclusively rudely, disruptively, litigiously and unpleasantly. In your very first edits after returning from a week-long block you write a thoroughly nasty "outside" view on an RfC [8] which just happened to have been filed today. You've been warned by me and by other admins, you have made essentially no contribution to the encyclopedia and, as a result of not heeding those warning, you are now indefinitely blocked. Wikipedia is not a battlefield, and you'll not be allowed to use it as one. (Plus, your particular choice to magically decide to edit hours after that RfC was filed is interesting.) -Splash - tk 01:01, 3 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for File:John Thaw as Jack Regan.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:John Thaw as Jack Regan.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. J Milburn (talk) 14:30, 29 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Non-free rationale for File:The Sweeney Stoppo Driver Ford Granada.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:The Sweeney Stoppo Driver Ford Granada.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page.
