How We Roll (song)

A tag has been placed on How We Roll (song), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself.

If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. You may also want to move the page to EverythingWiki. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this. --Aktsu (t / c) 00:28, 2 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of "Before I Met You (song)"

edit

The deletion of an article you created, Before I Met You (song), has been proposed for the following reason:

unreferenced

You are welcome to improve the article to meet Wikipedia's quality standards and remove the deletion notice from the article. You may also remove the notice if you disagree with the deletion, though in such cases, further discussion may take place at Articles for deletion, and the article may still be deleted if there is a consensus to do so.

Wikipedia has certain standards for inclusion that all articles must meet. Certain types of article must establish the notability of their subject by asserting its importance or significance. Additionally, since Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, content inappropriate for an encyclopedia, or content that would be more suited to somewhere else (such as a directory or social networking website) is not acceptable. See What Wikipedia is not for the relevant policy. You may wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

Speedy deletion of "D3 (band)"

edit

A page you created, D3 (band), has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is about a band or other musical group, but it does not indicate how they are important or significant, and thus why they should be included in an encyclopedia. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and the guidelines for musical groups in particular.

You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

Thank you.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 02:25, 27 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Your articles on singles

edit

Hello. When you write an article on a song that has been released as a single, please provide a link to an official page that confirms the song has been released as a single. This is required for other editors to verify your info.

Also, please do not post instructions for readers to violate copyfight using Google search. Telling people how to get copyright violating content themselves is as bad as posting the material yourself. Thank you. Pegasus «C¦ 00:41, 1 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of O, I Hate Chris

edit

A tag has been placed on O, I Hate Chris requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a musical recording which does not indicate why its subject is important or significant, and where the artist's article has never existed, has been deleted or is eligible for deletion itself. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for music.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay.   Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from O, I Hate Chris, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Terrillja (talk) 01:13, 1 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Tradingplaces.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Tradingplaces.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:NeYoCloser.jpg, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:NeYoCloser.jpg is unquestionably copyright infringement, and no assertion of permission has been made.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Image:NeYoCloser.jpg, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Hoax albums and singles

edit

I've spent a good amount of time this evening cleaning up after you. The first issue is the group of Chipmunks albums that, so far as I can tell, you completely made up. I can't find any sign of these being released, and the only Chipmunk versions of those songs I can find are YouTube fan videos. Don't introduce intentionally false information into Wikipedia. Doing so will result in you being blocked from editing.

The other thing I have been dealing with is your images. You keep marking them as having been made by yourself, and being released into public domain. This is obviously untrue: you aren't the photographer for a major record label, and do not own the rights to those images. If you continue to claim the rights for images that you do not own, you will be blocked from editing.—Kww(talk) 00:31, 6 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please avoid doing this again. If you do, you will be blocked indefinitely. I decided not to this time because of some of your better contributions. If you need any help, feel free to ask me! :) Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! :) 05:24, 6 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Image:You Make Me Wanna....jpg

edit

Hi
When you uploaded Image:You Make Me Wanna....jpg and Image:NeYoCloser.jpg you claimed to be the copyright holder of the single cover. This is very obviously not true.
Please take very good care in the future when you introduce copyrighted material to Wikipedia. I notice you have been warned for that above, consider this you last warning! It's possible to use album covers under a claim of fair use in wikipedia if they are of sufficiently low resolution, so there's no need to declare them incorrectly. If you need help with it, ask me or at the help desk, you will get plenty of help with that. Or just look at Image:You Make Me Wanna....jpg where I just added a proper fair use claim.
I'm going to fix Image:NeYoCloser.jpg now which needs a little more work, since typically fair use covers should not be larger than 300x300 pixels, to comply with fair use.
Thanks, AmaltheaTalk 00:34, 6 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hmm, apparently there already is Image:Ne-Yo - Closer.jpg. Why did you decide to upload another version of it? --AmaltheaTalk 00:37, 6 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:UsherNiceandSlow2.jpg

edit

Thank you for uploading File:UsherNiceandSlow2.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Σxplicit 20:24, 22 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
