Commas after years in dates

edit

Please note, it is standard practice to always place a comma after the year when writing it in MDY format... ex: "I wrote a message on July 31, 2022, to Defcool1." If you need any help or have any questions, feel free to ask. Happy editing! - Adolphus79 (talk) 04:58, 31 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

You requested admin help, but don't say what it is you want help with. I would highly advise you to heed the warnings you have been given. Keep in mind that removing a warning or any communication from this page is considered an acknowledgement that it was read and understood. 331dot (talk) 10:31, 11 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

The questions I would like to ask have not been addressed on Wikipedia. What is your opinion on double spacing sentences? Defcool1 (talk) 06:52, 13 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
I do not have this page watchlisted, so I didn't know you were asking me a question. If you are asking what I think about double spacing articles, I don't see a benefit to doing so. 331dot (talk) 18:10, 18 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
Not to be lengthy, much of this is about Bloom. The user participates in Wiki Bowl and best guess is they use double spacing (intermittently and haphazardly) to increase the number of edits and the article size.
Bloom is inconsistent in both spacing (at times using both in a single article) and in other ways. The expanded articles often have too much information. Defcool1 (talk) 18:37, 18 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
That's something you would need to take up with whomever runs "WikiBowl"(never heard of it). You can also attempt to discuss your concerns with that user, and if nothing changes, go to WP:ANI with your concerns. 331dot (talk) 18:42, 18 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
I suppose you could bring it to ANI. You also could get involved without ANI providing it's something you're inclined to do. I have no issue with the Bowl. I only mentioned it as a motive Bloom may have.
Are you able to see qualities Bloom has? Bringing copious amounts of information to articles is not all bad however these articles are padded. The spacing is certainly another problem. There are others. Defcool1 (talk) 19:21, 18 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
I am not as deeply involved in this as you are, and I don't think it is wise on my part to let you bring me into this further. If you want to take this further, with all due respect, you need to bring it to ANI. 331dot (talk) 20:27, 18 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

If I am able to show incompetence or a misunderstanding by one or two admins I should be unblocked Defcool1 (talk) 01:08, 20 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Doesn't work that way. The issue here is your behavior, not the admins', and whatever the latter might have been the former is enough to justify the block. — Daniel Case (talk) 06:23, 20 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

You did not answer my question. I am prepared to show you are incompetent. At the least you misunderstood the situation. There is no reason for your actions or the double spacing and other problems that you, Drmies, and other admins choose to not see.Defcool1 (talk) 01:27, 20 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
What was the question? All this started with some nonsense over having two spaces after a period, and User:Bloom6132 pointed you towards MOS:DOUBLESPACE--that should have been the end of it. Next, you are accusing that editor of padding articles to score points--"the user participates in Wiki Bowl and best guess is they use double spacing (intermittently and haphazardly) to increase the number of edits and the article size", which really is a ridiculous accusation, and you posted stuff like that on Talk:Bill Plante as well (including insults like "Find a new crusade, maybe someone will join"). You also, and this goes to another one of your complaints, said "Admins don't have much interest in resolving the question of why or whether double spacing sentences is proper"--if they don't have much interest in that, they are doing their job, since it's not an admin's job to adjudicate on content matters or change the MOS according to one editor's whims. In other words, you don't get it. Finally, I didn't "answer" the question you asked on [User talk:ScottishFinnishRadish]]; I merely removed your inappropriate question that had been answered already. So, who all do you wish to prove incompetent? Daniel Case too? Don't answer that: I don't think many will be interested in furthering this time sink along. Drmies (talk) 14:39, 20 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
For the time being let's stick with germane topics and not whether I'm finding 2 and maybe 4 admins that should be fired right away and their mops taken... Bloom is a menace. It has nothing to do with FA (Feature Articles) and GA (Good Articles) and maybe little to do with Wiki Bowls. You admins should focus on improving the site. Double spacing sentences is not that. One of the admins here agreed with me that double spacing is not a good thing. It's also not a tool. What is gained by that sort of padding and also Bloom's style which isn't MOS in any galaxy is borderline silly. Go ahead and don't unblock me, Bloom is a special, prime, and chief example of what is very wrong with Wikipedia. I and others will not allow this site to fall apart. PS, your founders don't get along. Get some clues.Defcool1 (talk) 00:31, 21 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
