April 2018 edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for advertising or promotion. From your contributions, this seems to be your only purpose.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Orange Mike | Talk 17:50, 11 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

hi Orangemike, sorry if it appears as if my edits are for 'advertising only' but I was just trying to update information on the pages. I do work for ANA and ANCC but my objective is to update information on these existing pages, especially the citation links because we just merged our websites and many of the URLs for the old ANCC website are leading to errors. I understand the concerns and how it may look but I am a new user and trying to provide useful updates about our organization. If employees of organizations are not allowed to make edits to their wiki pages, then I am cool with the wikipedia community making the changes. thanks. Update: after doing more research, I did learn that I was in the wrong due to Wikipedia's Conflict of Interest policy! I read the 'Plain and simple conflict of interest guide' and now understand my mistake. Moving forward I can refrain from making edits to the live pages and follow the guidance about COI and create edit requests for the community to review. thanks! Accept reason:

Block will be lifted per the discussion below. You do comply with the paid editing policy in your unblock request, but you may wish to post a message on your user talk page formally declaring your COI and employer. If you haven't been there already, you may wish to see the Edit Requests page which explains more. Good luck. 331dot (talk) 20:35, 14 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

You should also read WP:PAID. PhilKnight (talk) 00:38, 12 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

I might also suggest that, if unblocked, that you remove "official" from your username(by going to WP:CHU and using one of the two ways there to request a username change). "Official" in a username often suggests that it is used by a representative of the named person, and not the named person themselves. 331dot (talk) 19:56, 14 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
Orangemike, now that the user has said they will not edit the articles and make edit requests, do you have any further objections to an unblock? 331dot (talk) 19:58, 14 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
