Quotation marks

edit

Hi. Regarding your recent edit to wine: Please review Wikipedia:Manual of style, particularly the section about quotation marks (WP:LQ). The standard convention on Wikipedia is to use logical quotes, meaning that punctuation should be inside the quotation marks only if the quoted piece also contains that punctuation. Thanks. ~Amatulić (talk) 00:10, 13 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Wine ratings

edit

Congrats on your first article! I'm not familiar with the subject, but would it be appropriate to combine the content of Wine ratings with Classification of wine? Are they the same things? If not, you may want to add a link from wine ratings to classification of wine and vice versa. You can reply to me by typing beneath this comment, I'll see it. Thanks, Liqudlucktalk 03:31, 13 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Nope, totally different! Ratings are like reviews whereas classification is like an ordering/sorting system.

Thank you. Liqudlucktalk 04:07, 13 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I left this message on LiquidLuck's talk page by mistake:

it's good to see the wine rating article appear. In my opinion that's a much-needed topic. Until you included that reference to Robert Parker's wine rating methodology, I had no idea how he rated wine.

If you can find sources for other methodologies, it would be good to describe each one briefly in the article. ~Amatulić (talk) 23:19, 14 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thanks Amatulic, I added WS as well. If you have any other advice for improving the page please let me know. I'd love for it to leave "stub" status.
Well, I'd say get sources for the other two ratings you mention, and then add a section briefly describing how each rating system works. Move the reference footnotes to that new section and take them out of the lead. Then you can remove the stub tag from the article, and upgrade the talk page template to "class=start".
In addition, you can submit a Wikipedia:Did you know entry for new articles or recently expanded articles to get exposure on Wikipedia's front page, and generate interest. ~Amatulić (talk) 23:58, 14 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
