Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit(s) you made to Eureeca, did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you.   Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to Eureeca. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. This is noted. We don't want to make further changes. Can you please at least update the logo with this file

? Thank you. DCEureca (talk) 15:24, 30 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
Are you absolutely sure you released that logo, free for anyone else to use, including commercial use by a competitor company? --Yamla (talk) 15:43, 30 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hello Yamia. This is Eureeca's new branding and logo. https://twitter.com/Eureecamoment
https://www.linkedin.com/company/eureeca/mycompany/ DCEureeca (talk) 15:46, 30 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
You didn't answer the question I asked. --Yamla (talk) 15:51, 30 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hello Yamia. I am not aware as this is my first time to edit in Wikipedia and never expect it to be this difficult. We don't want to make any further changes aside from updating the company logo (which I am verifying with our Head of Compliance about your question). Thank you. DCEureeca (talk) 15:56, 30 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
Once you hear back from Compliance, let us know. Note that you irrevocably released that image under a free license, so for example, your competitors are now free to use that logo for themselves. --Yamla (talk) 15:58, 30 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
Is it better to include our company logo in Wikipedia or not? We had an old logo before, and we are changing all of our logos across the board. Kindly advise. Thank you. DCEureeca (talk) 16:01, 30 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
I don't care much either way, but in general, articles would include the current logo. What's unusual in this case is you releasing the logo under a free license that allows your competitors to use it as their own logo, if they wish. But that's your call. Note in general, we expect people with a conflict of interest (WP:COI), as you have, to avoid directly editing articles for which they have a conflict. See also, WP:UPE. --Yamla (talk) 16:15, 30 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
We can release the new logo, according to our Head of Compliance. We have a disclaimer on our website to protect it. DCEureeca (talk) 16:33, 30 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
Your release of the logo at Wikimedia Commons supersedes any disclaimer on your website. --Yamla (talk) 16:38, 30 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
Does it mean that we cannot use the new logo and we have to delete it? If that is the case, we have no other option. But can we request to make a small edit in the MODEL section? We want to delethe second paragraph. Can you assist? Thank you.
Eureeca has implemented a "Minimum Target" policy, which allows campaigners to specify a minimum target lower than their total one. This is based on milestones specified in the offering. Companies utilising this target will have it clearly marked on their proposals, and will be allowed to keep anything they raise beyond it. DCEureeca (talk) 16:45, 30 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
Eureeca can continue using their logo, as can anyone else, including your competitors, due to your choice of license. Essentially, you have provided "prior written permission" for this. I'm not sure why you are talking about the minimum target policy here. This will be my last response to you, as I believe we are just going around in circles now. --Yamla (talk) 16:48, 30 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
We received another message from Wikimedia Commons for speedy deletion. It says that our logo or the file is created as advertisements.
About the minimum target policy, we want to delete the second paragraph in this page Eureeca under the MODEL section. Maybe you can assist. Thank you. DCEureeca (talk) 16:54, 30 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

We have no interest in what a company wishes to say about itself. The only information we care about is what reliable, third-party sources have chosen on their own to publish about it. Article content is not owned or controlled by the article's subject. You (or your superiors) cannot dictate what this article will say about the company... consensus is Wikipedia's fundamental editorial model.

Is writing about this company your one and only reason for being on Wikipedia? Or do you have any interest in writing about other topics that are unrelated to your employer? --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 20:01, 30 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Your username

edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. I saw that you edited or created Eureeca, and I noticed that your username, "DCEureeca", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, service, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Foobar Museum of Art". However, you are permitted to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you individually (not your role), such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, service, or website, regardless of your username. Please also read our paid editing policy and our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please request a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, choosing a username that complies with our username policy. Alternatively, you can just create a new account and use that for editing. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Your username is a "role account"-type username. These are not permitted. Mako001 (C)  (T)  🇺🇦 07:24, 30 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Honestly, it is difficult to understand Wikipedia system. I'm reaching on behalf of Eureeca and we want to edit the content of our company. The person who created our profile left the company and we don't know how to get hold of it. Can you please give us a clear instruction? Thank you. DCEureeca (talk) 07:34, 30 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
Please don't edit the article about your company. You can request changes on the article's Talk page. Please read the conflict of interest guidance linked above. Tacyarg (talk) 09:14, 30 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of username and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page.

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

Your reason here I am not promoting or selling anything. I am updating our company profile and I am the new authorize person to do it. DCEureeca (talk) 10:16, 30 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Please place new posts at the bottom of the page, for proper discussion flow. You have not proposed a new username as instructed. Wikipedia has no interest in your "company story"; Wikipedia articles summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage choose on their own to say about a topic, not what a company wants to say about itself. We have no "profiles" here, not a single one. Wikipedia has articles, typically written by independent editors wholly unconnected with the topic. If the company has assigned you the task of editing the Wikipedia article about it, the Terms of Use require you to make a formal paid editing disclosure. You should also read conflict of interest. Please explain how your future edits will be consistent with the policies I describe here, as well as tell any edits you wish to make as a general contributor. If your only interest is in editing about your company, this is probably the end of the road. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 10:32, 30 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Please also read WP:BOSS, and also have your superiors read it- they have likely given you an impossible task(except for maybe providing an updated logo). 331dot (talk) 10:32, 30 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
