Speedy deletion of Libor Nováček edit

A tag has been placed on Libor Nováček requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later." You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. {{helpme}} I created a page for the biography and data of a classical music pianist, Libor Nováček. This took me some time as it was my first article and I wasn't at first quite sure how to proceed. However, after posting some basic information like the biography and some website links, I was told my page would be deleted.

I know exactly why this was, but please hear me out...

First of all, I appreciate that all this security and deletions etc. are there to protect people and copyrights so first of all, thank you.

The pianist I was trying to post up here is of international name, winner of several prizes and has 3 widely acclaimed CDs to his name, with one more on the way. Therefore I humbly believe he should have an entry here.

The reason his page was deleted was G12, which I believe to be copyright violation. The reason is that I used the biography on Mr. Nováček's official website and posted it right there on Wikipedia. However, this is not violation: I wrote that biography myself. I work for Czechkoncert, one of the agencies that manage Nováček. If you wish to verify this you can see my contact details on the Czechkoncert website and also you can download the said biography in Word format from www.libornovacek.com, and see my name under properties.

Is it possible to please, please restore the page? I would add more information such as the CD releases and links to several relevant websites, and perhaps a couple of pictures and soundfile. Is this possible?

If it is not, I would be very grateful if you could let me know how to do this.

May thanks and best wishes, <Name Redacted>

Thank you so much NuclearWarfare! I have sent the email as requested. Yes, of course I am happy to comply with any requirements. By the way how do you make your page look so good? Mine looks so amateur by comparison. :-)

No problem :)
And if you want, you can just steal the code of my source page by hitting edit, copying the text into notepad, and designing yours from that. If you want, you can also check out Wikipedia:User Page Design Center - NuclearWarfare contact meMy work 23:02, 29 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Request to move article Libor Nováček incomplete edit

You recently filed a request at Wikipedia:Requested moves to move the page Libor Nováček to a different title - however your proposal is either incomplete or has been contested as being controversial. As a result, it has been moved to the incomplete and contested proposals section. Requests that remain incomplete after five days will be removed.

Please make sure you have completed all three of the following:

  1. Added {{move|NewName}} at the top of the talk page of the page you want moved, replacing "NewName" with the new name for the article. This creates the required template for you there.
  2. Added a place for discussion at the bottom of the talk page of the page you want to be moved. This can easily be accomplished by adding {{subst:RMtalk|NewName|reason for move}} to the bottom of the page, which will automatically create a discussion section there.
  3. Added {{subst:RMlink|PageName|NewName|reason for move}} to the top of today's section here.

If you need any further guidance, please leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Requested moves or contact me on my talk page. - JPG-GR (talk) 17:30, 10 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
