Re: Removal of Article: Christoper Stribley

Thank You for your prompt response. I hope I am responding in the correct manner. My website includes some sources linked there, including an interview with The Pandorian, as well as a few articles about me and my work on this blog. I tried to link them here, but they seem to be causing my response to be disallowed. I can also put you in touch with several photographers in NY who have photographed me and/or send you portraits they have done of me. Numerous friends and fans can also verify that I am who I claim to be. Additionally, if you Google my name and my moniker, Plastic Robot, you will find my blogs, articles about me, and pictures of me, as well as my own photography and artwork. I hope I'm being helpful here.

Thank You for your help.

Sincerely, Christopher Stribley. christopherplastic@gmail.com http://plasticrobot.net

Whiteboyz

Can you send me the materials that were deleted at Whiteboyz? I was not notified of the prod. Thanks. Jokestress (talk) 10:35, 16 January 2011 (UTC)

Done. If you want to contest it, please let me know. (There is some very bad stuff in history from versions of this article before the recently deleted one was created, that would need to be separated somewhere.) Courcelles 10:46, 16 January 2011 (UTC)

Deleted article

Hi, after reading article on facebook (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Comtrade-group/112209052128128), I saw that you deleted article "Comtrade group" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comtrade_group) for lack of google search results.

In Serbian language ComTrade is spoken and spelled "Komtrejd", so you may try searching that word, I believe that there will be plenty of results. If that is enough, maybe info about "Komtrejd" native name should be also added to article text? --Goran.obradovic.77 (talk) 21:58, 16 January 2011 (UTC)

There may well be enough there. If you want it restored to work on, just let me know. Courcelles 01:44, 17 January 2011 (UTC)

Please restore File:Sharing the Secret.jpg 235 334.jpg

I received the notice that this file was orphaned. However, I did respond to the notice linking to the article (Sharing_the_Secret) for which it was uploaded and in which it was used. I don't understand the rationale for deleting this image. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Brendanmccabe (talk) 04:25, 17 January 2011 (UTC)

Restored. Courcelles 05:23, 17 January 2011 (UTC)

Hans Hermann Junge

Can you send me the materials that were deleted at Hans Hermann Junge? I was not notified of the prod. Thanks. Jokestress (talk) 05:15, 17 January 2011 (UTC)

Done. Courcelles 05:26, 17 January 2011 (UTC)

Do you think this counts as a protested prod? Some advice please

I nominated an article PROD and it was deleted by yourself... a day or so before the end someone deleted my signature from it, which I didn't think was relevant - was it this guy and does this count as a late contesting do you think? Have no objections (naturally) to it being recreated. I'm not going to email him or anything as that's Jokestress' call. Egg Centric (talk) 05:38, 17 January 2011 (UTC)

Someone removed your signature not as a contest to deletion, but rather that signatures should never be used on any article, that's all. Courcelles 05:42, 17 January 2011 (UTC)

Wintjiya Napaltjarri protection

The article is on the main page, which is why there are so many BLP violations. It should not be semi-protected. Gary King (talk · scripts) 05:56, 17 January 2011 (UTC)

On second thought, I'm not quite familiar with what the current policy is on BLPs on the main page, so I'll let you use your best judgment. Gary King (talk · scripts) 05:58, 17 January 2011 (UTC)
WP:BLPBAN apply, and WP:NOPRO is not a rule. Either way, WP:IAR apply, this proxy user had been doing it to all TFAs since January 9. Tbhotch ۩ ۞ 05:59, 17 January 2011 (UTC)
(edit conflict) x3 on my own talk page! Yes, it should be. WP:NOPRO has been deprecated as bad policy. I will not allow BLP violations, especially not on our most visible page. (At this level of vandalism I'd protected anything that was TFA, even a fictional character. TFA is in no way, shape, or form a suicide pact to amke editors revert vandalism every other minute for 24 hours.) Courcelles 06:00, 17 January 2011 (UTC)

Mistake

About O'Ryan, his album actually made it to 75 on the Billboard 200 and 21 on the R&B charts, though you said he didn't even crack 100. This makes him notable so you might want to restore the article. Live and Die 4 Hip Hop (talk) 07:37, 17 January 2011 (UTC)

Do you have some sources? I'm not going to restore a completely unreferenced BLP without some promise of sourcing sooner rather than later. Courcelles 08:14, 17 January 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, there's allmusic, Billboard and a few other sources that can be added. Live and Die 4 Hip Hop (talk) 19:01, 17 January 2011 (UTC)

Deletion of previous versions

Hi Courcelles, I have a small request if you can do. Can you please delete the previous versions of these two files (this and this). I think that there should be no problems about it. Thank you in advance.  InfamousPrince  14:49, 17 January 2011 (UTC)

Both done. Courcelles 00:50, 18 January 2011 (UTC)

I'm in limbo

Hi. Thanks for your input at the "Selected Stars" FLC. I've had to travel unexpectedly for the past few days, and this trip should finish up Thursday at the latest. I think I can address your issues more effectively with a reliable internet connection and homely comforts like a real keyboard. In the meantime, I didn't want to give the impression that I was ignoring your comments. Cheers. HausTalk 21:37, 17 January 2011 (UTC)

No worries. Have a good trip. Courcelles 00:51, 18 January 2011 (UTC)

Adam and the Amethysts

Courcelles, I know it's a bit late to object to the WP:PROD of Adam and the Amethysts. I have not viewed the deleted article and don't know how. However, stepping up with notability references:

  • CBC Radio. "Adam & the Amethysts". radio3.cbc.ca. Retrieved 17 January 2011. {{cite web}}: External link in |publisher= (help)
  • Library and Archives Canada. "AMICUS No. 33975327". amicus.collectionscanada.ca. canada.gc.ca/main_e.html. Retrieved 17 January 2011. {{cite web}}: External link in |publisher= and |work= (help)

The band was signed to Pome Records owned by two notable musicians. The band is in rotation on CBC Radio. This satifies the conditons of WP:NM. I'm guessing the nominator did not do a sufficient search and should have realised that despite it's name, allmusic is not a complete listing of music?

My question: how can the original article be restored so that I may add the citations noted above? All I know is that you deleted the article based on the WP:PROD. Argolin (talk) 09:50, 17 January 2011 (UTC)

Restored- nine days after deletion is actually fairly quick for contesting a deleted PROD. Courcelles 10:20, 17 January 2011 (UTC)
Thank-you for restoring the article Adam and the Amethysts. The article was brought to my attention via the Wikipedia:WikiProject Canadian music quality log.[1]. Do you have any idea why the article was prodded? The article had three references and is associated with the band Miracle Fortress. As far as I know, that is enough to satisfy notability per WP:NM. Argolin (talk) 01:27, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
All I know is what the PRODder said, "Essentially an unsourced bio posing as an entry about a band; band is not notable". I'm not really sure they're wrong, to be honest. Courcelles 02:58, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
I've added six 3rd party citations; there are lots more out there. The band is in rotation on CBC Radio (cited above) satisfying Wikipedia:NM#Criteria for musicians and ensembles "Has been placed in rotation nationally by any major radio network." Argolin (talk) 04:47, 18 January 2011 (UTC)

Deletion review for Air Cycle Corporation

An editor has asked for a deletion review of Air Cycle Corporation. Because you closed the deletion discussion for this page, speedily deleted it, or otherwise were interested in the page, you might want to participate in the deletion review.

Plaid-collar crime

Hi Courcelles. I'd like to look again at your recent prodded deletion of Plaid-collar crime. It appears sufficiently notable. There are numerous sources fr its use as a term. There are a decent number of mainspace incoming links. I'd also like to work out why it is on my watch list. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 11:59, 18 January 2011 (UTC)

The last one might be the easiest to figure out- you made a single edit in March of 2009. Do you want it put somewhere in your userspace, or would you like to contest the PROD and just have it restored into mainspace? Courcelles 12:09, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
Hmmm. I'm very very close to agreeing that it should be deleted. Looking at the google cache... both sources are broken links. There is a single source that I can find: http://www.forthepeople.com/plaid-collar-crime--11-1824.html. It is quite similar in content to the deleted article, possible the real, uncited source. The incoming links seem to be all due to Template:CriminTheo, from this edit. Every other online source seems to be due to mirroring of articles containing this template. I think it is squarely a WP:neologism.
Would you mind copying/moving this talk page section to my talk, and userfying the article with history intact to my userspace. I'd like to take one last look through, and then I'll probably CSD#U1 it in a day or two. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 15:21, 18 January 2011 (UTC)

DRV notification

Hi, Courcelles, you don't seem to have been notified of this.—S Marshall T/C 18:41, 18 January 2011 (UTC)

Thanks- this is for the best. He'd have a better chance of getting somewhere if he'd provide the original articles, and not the stuff on the firm's website.

(talk page stalker)Since you are contesting this deletion, I'm going to go ahead and restore this. (further note, it appears that the PROD was added by an spa without an edit summary) For future reference, any article deleted by proposed deletion can be restored by a request to requests for undeletion. This article still may be deleted through articles for deletion if someone wishes to nominate it. --Ron Ritzman (talk) 02:46, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
  1. 9 on the paperback business best-sellers list? This falls at AFD if anyone feels like sending it there, but since it is at least somewhat sourced, I'm not feeling like bothering tonight. Thanks Ron. Courcelles 02:56, 19 January 2011 (UTC)

Orphaned Image Notifications

Notifications per my talk page.

Regarding those, I never knew the articles were even being considered for deletion. Can you point me to the logs for the articles' deletions? They were all originally used in articles for Kenny Roger albums. "With Love" can go, as it was a budget release I believe, but the other two were released directly by Liberty (I think one only overseas) and the articles thus should have remained, I believe. Short Stories in particular was a compilation album released by Liberty (no doubt to try to garner additional sales with old material) over whose track listing AllMusic disagrees with a print of the record that I have actually seen. So where are the deletion logs, to which I was never alerted? I thought I at least created two of those articles and the nominator (no doubt TenPoundHammer, he patrols country articles) never notified me, even of the Speedy request if it was that.

I did save Live by Request once, in fact, by adding charting info, which had been missing before; Short Stories I think also made charts, and I think the 25 Number Ones did as well in Europe, but I'll double-check that (again, "With Love" can go being budget). Can we restore the articles until I can take a better look at them? CycloneGU (talk) 02:36, 19 January 2011 (UTC)

Short Stories (Kenny Rogers album) was deleted as an expired PROD, with the concern "Non-charting album. Allmusic entry is blank. No sources found." 20 Greatest Hits (Kenny Rogers album) was also an expired PROD where the concern actually made it into the log, "Non-notable compilation, no sources. Contains a great deal of OR." You can see a deletion log by typing the deleted article name into the search box, and then clicking the redlink at the top where it tells you that no article by the name exists. Both articles have been restored, if they can be deleted again, let me know. Courcelles 03:18, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
Will do, I'm actually checking into Short Stories as I type (around my Facebook games...those are too darn addicting *LOL*). CycloneGU (talk) 03:31, 19 January 2011 (UTC)

As an addendum, I looked up Short Stories and remember now that this one was a pain for me to find information on. I will need more time with that one.

20 Greatest Hits isn't in AllMusic, but 25 Greatest Hits - on the same page - is. I recall the 20 edition being released internationally and the 25, with almost identical album art, coming four years later in America (it is because of the album art that I combined them, in fact). As for charting information for the latter, well, here it is. Definitely notable by itself even if we end up renaming the article and removing the other.

For now, I'm making one big change; some IP made some edits that ended up removing a lot of info from the 25 section. I'll restore that for tonite, then I'll look into charting info for that one and the other 2morrow. If I try to do too much at this time of evening, I'll probably muck it up. =) CycloneGU (talk) 03:43, 19 January 2011 (UTC)

Another addendum. Something doesn't seem to match up. I just found this with the album artwork I list as 1983. I stand by my guess that this 1989 one, as it's labeled, is an import of the European one, but again I'll research this sometime 2morrow. A bit startled by this, I know I wouldn't have labeled it as 1983 unless I actually had something telling me it came out then. CycloneGU (talk) 03:47, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
One more addendum and I'll shut up. The first addendum of these three seems to only note singles, and I don't see an album one. I'll do further research. CycloneGU (talk) 03:53, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
Alright. (For the record, though, outside of The Beatles modern music is a topic I neither understand nor care about. I can tag orphaned images and process the occasional PROD or AFD close. Probably not worth telling me anything more than 1)You want the articles to stay, or 2) they can be deleted again. ) Courcelles 04:02, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
