Welcome!

Hello, Cosdat, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was User:Cosdat/sandbox, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Hi - I wanted to drop you a more personal note, over and above the standard template I left you above. I saw the draft in your sandbox, and wanted to let you know that an article like that won't be accepted if you submit it - it looks like it belongs on the organisation's website, rather than Wikipedia. Articles should be written from a neutral point of view, from a third person perspective - we never have 'About Us' sections or anything like that, because 'We' are Wikipedia, not the subject we are describing. If you are connected to this subject (e.g. you are employed by them, or they have paid you to write the article), you need to read and comply with the relevant policies (WP:COI, WP:PAID). You will also need to add sourcing to the article that demonstrates that it is notable: these sources need to be reliable and independent of the subject - use newspaper articles written about the subject, rather than their own website. Finally, ensure that you avoid any copyright issues - you can't copy and paste text from online sources. I hope this is all clear - if you have any questions, you are welcome to ask them on my talk page. Cheers GirthSummit (blether) 11:45, 10 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Sports development authority of tamilnadu

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Sports development authority of tamilnadu, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. creffett (talk) 12:49, 13 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi, thanks for message. You can sign your comments automatically using four tildes ~~~~.

I deleted your article because

  • it did not provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the organisation, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the organisation claims or interviewing its management. Note that references should be in-line so we can tell what fact each is supporting, and should not be bare urls.
  • The notability guidelines for organisations and companies have been updated. The primary criteria has five components that must be evaluated separately and independently to determine if it is met:
  1. significant coverage in
  2. independent,
  3. multiple,
  4. reliable,
  5. secondary sources.
Note that an individual source must meet all four criteria to be counted towards notability.
  • It was written in a promotional tone. You said on my talk page This page is not unambiguously promotional... a Government Department created for promotion of sports; so an organisation created to promote isn't promotional? Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. Examples of unsourced or self-sourced claims presented as fact include: Our vision is to empower a sustainable sports culture and create world-class sports infrastructure in the State of Tamilnadu. To promote and encourage quality participation and performance by Tamilnadu sports persons at national and international events through recognition, quality training, support schemes and world-class infrastructure.. The rest is much the same, no facts, just spam
  • it's all about what the organisation claims to do. To show notability you need hard verifiable facts such as the number of employees, funding or expenditure. You don't even say where it is based in the text
  • there shouldn't be any url links in the article, only in the "References" or "External links" sections. That's particularly the case when they are spamlinks to affiliated sites.
  • the article was a copyright violation. Copyrighted text is not allowed in Wikipedia, as outlined in this policy. That applies even to pages created by you or your organisation, unless they state clearly and explicitly that the text is public domain. I can't see anything on that page that suggests that it is public domain as you claim. We require that text posted here can be used, modified and distributed for any purpose, including commercial but there is no indication that the copied site allows free use, and I don't think that the Indian government allows modification and commercial use of its publications. Text is considered to be copyright unless explicitly stated otherwise. There are ways to donate copyrighted text to Wikipedia, as described here; please note that simply asserting on the talk page that you are the owner of the copyright, or you have permission to use the text, isn't sufficient. But in any case the copyrighted text is far too promotional to be useful for Wikipedia's purposes, so there would not be any point in your jumping through all the hoops that are required.
  • You have an obvious conflict of interest and you must declare it. Thank you for declaring your interest. If, after reading the information about notability linked above, you still believe that your organisation is notable enough for a Wikipedia article (and that there is significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources), you could, if you wish, post a request at Wikipedia:Requested articles for the article to be created. See also guidance for editors with conflicts of interest.
  • Since you work for the organisation, or otherwise are acting on its behalf, you are very strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly. Regardless, if you are paid directly or indirectly by the organisation you are writing about, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Cosdat. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Cosdat|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. Please provide the required disclosure. Note that editing with a COI is discouraged, but permitted as long as it is declared. Concealing a COI can lead to a block. Please do not edit further until you respond to this message.

We often restore deleted text on request, but for legal reasons we don't do so for copyright violations. In any case, there was little factual content in your draft, so better to start from scratch.

Before attempting to write an article again, please make sure that the topic meets the notability criteria linked above, and check that you can find independent third party sources. Also read Your first article. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 10:27, 14 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Sports development authority of tamilnadu

edit

Hello Cosdat,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Sports development authority of tamilnadu for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Request reason:

I have created draft article "Sports Development Authority of Tamilnadu". My first publication was deleted as there is no references/citations mentioned. Hence, I once again created the same article with more references and published. Now, my user is blocked under WP:NOTHERE. This article is about sports infrastructure available in the state of Tamilnadu in India. Wikipedia is referred by more public. Hence, by publishing this article, young sports persons may know about the sports infrastructure facility available in their resident. It is not a promotional post. You may kindly refer article already published on topic "Sports Authority of India". My article is also same like this.--CosdatCosdat 08:15, 10 July 2019 (UTC)

Decline reason:

I'm sorry, I cannot unblock you at this time. Unfortunately, you do not recognize the promotional tone of your writing, and I cannot unblock you if you do not. That you recreated the same WP:SPAM so many times suggests you are unwilling/unable to not to use Wikipedia for promotion. I would consider unblocking you if you accept a topic ban on Sports development authority of tamilnadu(sic) and describe what constructive (non promotional) edits you would make. Oh, I see WP:copyvio notice as well. You will need to affirm that you will not add material copyrighted elsewhere into Wikipedia and why we do not do this. Please see User:Yunshui/decline copyvio for more information.  Dlohcierekim (talk) 09:56, 10 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

PS You will also find pertinent information at User:Dlohcierekim/g12  Dlohcierekim (talk) 09:59, 10 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hello, Dlohcierekim

This is my first article. It may not be proper as per the rules of Wikipedia. It is not a promotional post. Kindly, help me to publish this article. If any changes has to be made on it, please guide me on that.---CosdatCosdat
