Notability of North River Elementary School

edit

A tag has been placed on North River Elementary School, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Realkyhick 17:26, 23 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

James Madison Square

edit

A {{prod}} template has been added to the article James Madison Square, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please tag it with {{db-author}}. DGG (talk) 05:49, 23 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Commercial use of Image:HrsnbrgCrssng 2222 3 lg.jpg

edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:HrsnbrgCrssng 2222 3 lg.jpg, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:HrsnbrgCrssng 2222 3 lg.jpg has a copyright license type implying some type of restricted use, such as for non-commercial use only, or for educational use only or for use on Wikipedia by permission, which was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19 or is not used in any articles (CSD I3). While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, this is in fact not the case[1][2]. Please do not upload any more files with these restrictions on them, because content on Wikipedia needs to be compatible with the GNU Free Documentation License, which allows anyone to use it for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial. See our non-free content guidelines for more more information.

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. This bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Image:HrsnbrgCrssng 2222 3 lg.jpg itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. If you have any questions about what to do next or why your image was nominated for speedy deletion please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thanks. --Android Mouse Bot 2 02:33, 27 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Unspecified source for Image:Hburgtowncenter.gif

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Hburgtowncenter.gif. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 16:53, 27 July 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Wikidudeman (talk) 16:53, 27 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

advice

edit

Wouldn't it be better to start articles that will have the necessary sourcing and depth to stay in wikipedia? te articles you have been doing on shopping centers will not--they has to be something notable to say, and you have to find sources for it. The ones that are not quite empty enough to be speedied will surely go to Afd, and afd will surely delete them. Harrisonburg Town Center, and Madison Square are in that condition now, plus a few others. Please look at some good articles on shopping malls and see what is necessary. Then either bring them up to standards, or just put {{db-usereq}} on the top, and they will be peacefully removed without further trouble--there's no shame in that, good people do that all the time when they see they can't finish something well enough to stay. . Trying to keep them in their present state will be work--wasted work--for you, and totally unnecessary work for others. There are enough real problems to discuss at AfD without these. Continuing to make obviously un-satisfactory articles is not the way to improve the encyclopedia. I've decided to not nominate those two for AfD just yet, in the hope that you will improve them. think about it.

if you follow these things, you will know that as an admin and at afd I try to save as many good articles about local places as possible--and I write some myself. But it has to be worth defending. I want more good articles in

WP, equal emphasis on the more and the good. I'll be glad to offer what help I can. DGG (talk) 02:04, 29 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Hull's Drive In

edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Hull's Drive In, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Low notability

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.
