Hi! I'm pretty new to Wikipedia. I created an article about a band called Hazzard. It received a speedy delete tag and was deleted by NawlinWiki, because I had failed to claim notability. I recreated the article, although perhaps I could have asked NawlinWiki to restore it. This time, I argued notability in the discussion page, and the notability should be apparent from the text as well.

Now I've noticed that it has been deleted once more. However, I don't recognize the first line of the article as I wrote it in the delete log. And I see that an article of the same name has been deleted before. Could it be that someone has changed the entire content of my article for some self-promoting purpose? New articles

Thanks for the information. The problem was not that the people were not at all notable, but that the articles were probably copyright violations and were written like advertisement copy, which is a speedy deletion criterion, and that the user's only edits were adding bios of people related to this one radio show. The user also did not respond to requests to stop, and repeatedly re-posted the same articles. I don't have a problem if you want to re-create the articles in proper wiki-style. I am wondering of this site could be considered an internet phenomena or not. I know it is rather popular and extremely humorous. It features a guy who holds a weekly contest offering $100 via PayPal to the individual who leaves him he best Drunk dialing message on his voicemail.

I did not add this site to this article yet for fear that people would think I am self-promoting. I have no affiliation with the site and can’t find any direct marketing used to purchase products. I just think it is very funny and well known around my area.

I greatly appreciate you opinions and value your perspectives. Your vantage point enables me to better conceptualize Wikipedia’s purpose. Hey Chuq The reason I added the See Also links is because on other governing bodies articles with Football Federation in their name, They all have See Also catorgries on there pages. FFT was the only one without See Also so thought i would add it.

In case you couldn't understand my impatience with the current discussion, it's because this has already been decided before!!! I meant to write you about this earlier... I'm very confused about your actions concerning this page. It was speedily deleted several times before, quite justifiably. Then you speedily deleted it, restored it and restored previous versions. I don't know why you restored it after deleting it yourself, and you should be careful when restoring previous deleted versions of a page; in this case, previous deleted versions were about a different subject altogether, so restoring almost the whole history doesn't make sense here. The last couple of reversions of today are taking current enviornmental issues out of a series of arts - I notice there appears to be no attempt at dialogue with the perpretrator - does this mean they've ogone on before or you simply are not interested in channelling the perpatrator into some other means of expression? Assistance to address longterm vandalism problem

Hi Charles. As someone who’s helped combat the persistent vandalism of Avram over a long period of time, I’m wondering if you can help out with an instance of longterm sockpuppet abuse, vandalism, trolling and general disruptive behaviour on a similar article.

Harvardy is a sockpuppet account that was created earlier this year with the apparent sole purpose of stalking my edits to Empire of Atlantium. The account has made a total of 74 edits since being created. Its second edit was a vote to delete the article. 18 other edits consist of reversions to the article. At least 20 other edits constitute attempts to delete content about Atlantium from micronations or harassment directed at me via various talk pages.

As the edit history clearly demonstrates, the person behind the Harvardy sock has been fully conversant with me, my contributions and Wikipedia policies and processes from day one, and created the account as a deliberate source of disruption to the project.

After a period of inactivity Harvardy recently reappeared and is continuing recurring vandalism and edit-stalking of Empire of Atlantium. The vandalism comprises wholesale reversion of fully-referenced edits, using false edit summaries, as well as low-level trolling on the article talk page.

Harvardy has also set up other sockpuppets and edited using anonymous IPs to evade the 3RR and continue vandalizing the article. His socks Crooked_allele and Enenkian have both been blocked indefinitely as a result of this.

The general pattern of behaviour, edit summary wording and obsessive vandalism of Empire of Atlantium engaged in by Harvardy is identical to that of the hard-banned editor Wik / Gzornenplatz. The latter obsessively vandalized the Atlantium article and edit-stalked me for several years - exactly as Harvardy is doing now - before being banned by Jimbo.

I’d like to ask if you wouldn’t mind looking into this, and if you agree with my assessment either permanently block Harvardy, or put the article on your watch list so his vandalism can be rolled-back whenever it occurs.

Soccer template

If you would look, I have only edited it where it is refered to locally (Asia still is refered to as football and in the worldwide). But the national soccer team has been redirected to national football (soccer) tem and soccer reffered to in australia-wide on wikipedia is referred to as football (soccer). "Players must have Portuguese ancestry. Australian born players must have at least one grandparent who is Portuguese to qualify." No different from soccer. "Interest in rugby league has emerged in Portugal and amongst other Portuguese communities in the Northern Hemisphere. The PRLA hopes too channel this interest as they embark on establishing a national rugby league competition in Portugal." This clearly shows that the operations are directed towards the country and there is no precedent at all for creating some a template. It is POV vandalism attempted to provoke.

There is a massive difference between this and football. Every full member nation of FIFA runs a domestic league. As it stands the headquaters of of the PRLA is in Sydney, along with the players. Your version of the template exists to try and show that Rubgy League is played in more countries than it actually is. I would suggest that when there is a domestic league in Portugal, when the "national team" is based in Portugal and when the organisiation running League is based in Portugal, then we can say that Portugal is a nation that plays Rubgy League.Tancred 09:29, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

Pitt Water/Pittwater

Chuq, what is the correct name/spelling of the body of water under the Sorell Causeway? Sorell, Tasmania links to Pitt Water (red link). Tenuous walker

Hi Chuq I'm not sure what to do here and I thought you may be able to help. After the problems and banning of user:147.10.112.157, today a new user appeared user:Tenuous walker. This user has madea total of 2 edits in one day, and managed to call me a "soccer vandal" and a "Troll". This user went on the revert Template:Rugby_League_Playing_Nations_links. Unjust deletion of changes?

Hi Chuq. You deleted my changes to the rage (TV program) page. I really don't think this was reasonable. The problem was that I added a link to some software I wrote. The software however could not be more relevant to the subject matter. Furthermore you deleted all my changes, including the fact that rage puts their playlists up online each week (something I thought was sorely missing). Why delete useful information? The guidelines say "Do not simply revert changes in a dispute". Back to the software link, wikipedia is not and should not be free of links to software, commercial or otherwise. That would make some wiki pages more or less useless. First example I thought of was Computer-generated imagery, which could be explained without reference to commercial software, but would be sorely lacking without it (in fact, that page is surprisingly short and only refers to Maya, so it is sorely lacking!). Would you go about deleting all such links? I linked to software that is directly relevant to the subject matter, and my new section contained other important information which was independent of that link. Please restore my changes, or explain how anything I added was not directly relevant to the topic. Thanks, Rob.

I see you're an expert on semiregular polyhedra now too. Seems you deleted my edits there as a response to my comment above, rather than bothering to reply. Again, my edit included a link to software which allowed people to view the semiregular polyhedra, and print nets for their construction. Nothing could be more relevant to the topic, and people interested in the topic will miss out on a further avenue for studying semiregular polyhedra thanks to you. By your definition, all external links would be "linkspam". I do not appreciate the "spam" label. I hate spam, and would never edit a wiki page except by adding relevant material. By the way, my Stella (software) has its own wiki page. Are you planning to delete that too without discussion? I'd like to point out that the page was created and edited by others off their own bat, and I have not touched it (since writing that I did make one edit, to categorise it). Sorry, quick update, I see you did reply on the chat page of my old user-name (was expecting to find the reply here). You're right that there is a self-interest, in that I would like people to come to my website, but that in no way negates the relevance of either link. I will check the references you gave, thanks. You said that you deleted the whole section about rage's playlists because it was "pretty obvious" that they were online. How is this obvious until you're told about it? I think it's one of the best things about rage, and I didn't know for years that the playlists were online. It's certainly something I'd expect to find out at wiki. Rob. 14:21, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
