Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited NOLAP, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page RDF (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article NOLAP is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/NOLAP until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. McSly (talk) 18:11, 30 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Important notice

edit

Hi CharlesHoffman, you are probably already aware of this, but I'd like to make sure that this notices has been added to your talk page (per WP:AWARE).

Please read this notification carefully, it contains important information about an administrative situation on Wikipedia. It does not imply any misconduct regarding your own contributions to date.

A community decision has authorised the use of general sanctions for pages related to the blockchain and cryptocurrencies. The details of these sanctions are described here. All pages that are broadly related to these topics are subject to a one revert per twenty-four hours restriction, as described here.

General sanctions is a system of conduct regulation designed to minimise disruption in controversial topic areas. This means uninvolved administrators can impose sanctions for edits relating to these topics that do not adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, our standards of behaviour, or relevant policies. Administrators may impose sanctions such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks. An editor can only be sanctioned after he or she has been made aware that general sanctions are in effect. This notification is meant to inform you that sanctions are authorised in these topic areas, which you have been editing. It is only effective if it is logged here. Before continuing to edit pages in these topic areas, please familiarise yourself with the general sanctions system. Don't hesitate to contact me or another editor if you have any questions.

Managing a conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, CharlesHoffman. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Non-fungible token, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. JBchrch talk 23:57, 1 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Reliable sources

edit

Hi CharlesHoffman, thank you for your email. It's customary for issues of that nature to be discussed in the open, so I hope you don't mind if I reply on your talk page.

You have asked me what would be an appropriate source to source Non-fungible token § Accounting rules. I recommend that you read WP:RS which is Wikipedia's policy on what reliable sources. In brief, the sources cited must have a "reputation for fact-checking and accuracy". That is generally the case for reputable newspapers and scholarly sources. In addition, you should note that there is broad consensus on this project that crypto-centric publications (such as Coindesk or NewsBTC) are not considered reliable sources.

Also, in your particular case, you appear to have a close connection with XBRL as well as with Auditchain (as evidenced by your personal website, which is linked on your userpage). As a result, we consider that you are in a position of conflict of interest if you want to write about these topics. In that case, we ask you to please conform to WP:COI, which are Wikipedia's guidelines for editors that are in a position of conflict of interest. An outline of the guideline has been posted above this message, on your talk page.

Let me know if you have any addition questions. JBchrch talk 09:56, 2 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
