Orphaned non-free media (File:Space Angels Network - Company Logo.png)

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Space Angels Network - Company Logo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:21, 13 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

advice

edit

I see you are active in improving Space Angels Network and the associated article on Chad Anderson. Unfortunately it is still full of promotionalism. The purpose of a WP article is to tell general readers about the subject, not to explain how good it is. We do not include statements that merely repeat platitudes; we do not use unsupported adjectives of praise. I removed some of this, and am about to remove some more, and I very strongly urge you not to add it back.

There's one specific problem in some of the changes you have been making. When we refer to an organization that does not have a Wikipedia page, we do not make an external link that gives the impression that it does. See WP:ELPOINTS number 2. Please go back and reverse these changes.

And I remind you of our rules on WP:Conflict of Interest. If you are associated with the organization as a paid editor, you must declare this. See our Terms of Use, [1] Section 4, "Paid contributions without disclosure" If you are the person yourself, I remind you of WP:AUTOBIOGRAPHY. If DGG ( talk ) 19:52, 2 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Acknowledged: User talk:DGG Following your advice, I have removed external links and promotional content from Space Angels Network. Can you please review and consider removing the banner at the top of the page?

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Proposed deletion of File:Chad Anderson profile on SpaceNews.jpg

edit

The file File:Chad Anderson profile on SpaceNews.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Uploaded for Chad Anderson (entrepreneur). No other use.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 08:20, 31 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
