Speedy deletion

edit

This page was flagged for speedy deletion (on the grounds of WP:Spam) by User:Calton yesterday. I subsequently removed the tag, and Calton and I have since been discussing whether or not the tag was appropriate.

I'm of the view that the page isn't spam, although it would have to work hard to satisfy Wikipedia:Notability (books) (but perhaps not as hard as if the article were in the mainspace and not userspace), but as a result speedy deletion is not the correct course of action, but instead the page should be flagged with MfD.

I've proposed, and have implemented, a resolution whereby the article is reflagged as being csd-spam, but I place the hangon tag and outline my views against speedy on this page. Calton is on a different time zone, so may or may not agree with this approach. Since it does put the page back on the csd list, where he wanted it, I'd be surprised if he vehemently disagreed.

Discussion can be found here and here. Giles Bennett (Talk, Contribs) 14:41, 8 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

You have created a one-sentence article:

In 2008, Ford sold the two British companies Land Rover and Jaguar to the Indian company, Tata.

We do not need it. Please add this information to the articles about the two companies (if it ain't already here). -- RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 18:02, 19 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
