Proposed deletion of Mark Yates (Restaurant Entrepreneur)

edit

The article Mark Yates (Restaurant Entrepreneur) has been proposed for deletion. The proposed-deletion notice added to the article should explain why.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. reddogsix (talk) 20:56, 21 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of The Gourmet Hotdog Company

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on The Gourmet Hotdog Company requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. reddogsix (talk) 15:07, 22 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Your article at AfC

edit

You recently made a submission to Articles for Creation. Your article has been reviewed and because some issues were found, it could not be accepted in its current form; it is now located at Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Mark Yates (restaurant entrepreneur). Please view your submission to see the comments left by the reviewer. Feel free to edit the submission to address the issues raised, and resubmit once you feel they have been resolved. (You can do this by adding the text {{subst:AFC submission/submit}} to the top of the article.) Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia!

This page lacks reliable sources to prove notability. A reliable source would be an article from a source that is not involved with Yates, such as an interview where he talks about himself or an article that does the same. Sources that are promotional in nature (such as "this place exists") and/or only mention Yates briefly are not considered sources that would be reliable or that prove notability. As such, the article up for creation (not to be confused with the article up for deletion) would not pass WP:BIO or WP:RS. Although I will mention that if the article up for deletion gets removed, you can feel free to keep working on the article in AfC space until it passes muster by one of the editors. I would not recommend recreating a page about Yates or one of his companies outside of the create space until you get more familiar with standards and editing on Wikipedia.
