Hi Cassmus. Do you happen to knw where you got this information that you added to the article way back when? [1] Not the Plot, but the 20,000 figure. We're trying to source it but don't know where to. I briefly looked at the Really Useful site (perhaps not in the right place), and couldn't find it. You have misunderstood the conflict of interest policy. It is explicitly permitted to cite one's self on Wikipedia.[1] If I were editing a page about me or a close associate, then I would be in violation of the COI policy. - I did not say that you can never cite yourself, I said you should use caution. Per WP:COI:
When in doubt, defer to the community's opinion: propose the edit on the article's talk page and allow others to review it. However, adding numerous references to work published by yourself and none by other researchers is considered to be a form of spamming.
You are allowed to cite yourself, but you are not impartial in determining the appropriate weight for your citations. Use caution, review these guidelines, and consider proposing changes on talk pages.
