Cin-Ty Lee edit
Cin-Ty Lee is a Taiwan-born American geologist and geochemist, who is currently a professor at Rice University. He received his BA degree in geology from the University of California, Berkeley in 1996 and his PhD in geochemistry from Harvard University in 2001. At Berkeley, he worked under the tutelage of George Brimhall, Jr. For his PhD, he worked with Roberta Rudnick on the origin and evolution of continental lithospheric mantle. From 2001-2002, he conducted postdoctoral studies at the California Institute of Technology with Gerald Wasserburg. He became a professor at Rice University in 2002, where he remains today.
His research interests are focused on the origin and evolution of continental crust and lithospheric mantle, petrogenesis of arc magmas, the origin of critical mineral deposits, and long-term evolution of climate. He has also published articles on challenging field identification problems in birds, such as on pipits[1], orioles[2], loons, dowitchers, and pewees.
He has served as an associate editor for Geochemistry, Geophysics and Geosystems, Science Advances and Geochemical Perspectives Letters.
