Copyright policy edit

Your addition has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. If you are the copyright holder, please read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for more information on uploading your material to Wikipedia. For legal reasons, Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text, or images borrowed from other websites, or printed material without a verifiable license; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of article content, such as sentences or images—you must write using your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. --Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 18:16, 21 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Please stop uploading copyright violating images on Commons and then adding them to the Jane Goldman article. If you do not own the copyright to the image, you cannot use it asthey cannot be claimed to be fair use. Continued disregard for Wikipedia's copyright policies will absolutely result in a block of your account. If you are at all affiliated with Jane Goldman, please do read through the guidelines for editing with a conflict of interest. --Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 18:28, 21 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Reliable sources edit

IMDB and other user-generated content sites do not meet Wikipedia guidelines for reliable sources. Please do not continue to add them as inline citations as they will be removed. I urge you to read WP:BLP and WP:RS prior to making any further edits on the Jane Goldman article.--Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 18:33, 21 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thank you so much for the note on my talk page. It's great that you're enthusiastic in wanting to help update and improve articles! I apologize for all of the scary exclamation signs above, I just wasn't sure how else to get your attention and repeated copyright violations are one of the quickest ways to a block on Wikipedia. Most of the online images you will find will be unuseable - they need to be available under a compatible license (you'll learn more about this while reading the copyright page). Please also make sure that information you add to articles is supported by a reliable source (such as newspapers as opposed to IMDB, NNDB, and other compendia type websites). If you're ever stuck or unsure there is a great group of people at the help desk and Teahouse who will be happy to help. Happy editing!--Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 21:52, 21 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
