Thank you -- I created the stub page in an evidently fruitless attempt to correct an FALSE WIKIPEDIA LINK that the Columbia Law School Wikipedia page has in its "notable scholars" section, where it lists my name ("Eric Talley"). Unfortunately, the link on my name INCORRECTLY links over to the police officer (by the same name) who died in Boulder in 2021. I noticed that almost all my colleagues on that page have stub entries, and that's what I tried to create. I evidently failed (in your eyes).
If you will not publish my attempt at a stub page, will you at least remove the INCORRECT and MISLEADING link from the Columbia Law School Wikipedia entry? A reporter and my mother both called my attention to it.
Many Thanks Bumbertwister (talk) 19:59, 22 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

A couple notes about your draft

edit

I was patrolling recent edits and I saw your draft. I saw that it got rejected and I have a couple other note about it. Generally speaking, writing an article about yourself is strongly discouraged, and there is a good chance that, from the information provided, that you may not meet the notability guidelines for people. That being said, I do understand your main concern is that a link you found at Columbia Law School refers to a different person with the same name. I have removed the link for now. If it is re-added, you can bring it up on the article's talk page. You may also want to see Wikipedia:Disambiguation for how we handle articles where multiple subjects are referred to by the same or similar names. TornadoLGS (talk) 19:57, 22 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Many thanks for removing the link.
Best Regards,

I left another reply to you at Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation/Help desk. I also ran a check to make sure that no other pages have the same incorrect link. TornadoLGS (talk) 20:34, 22 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions; however, it appears you may have written a Wikipedia article, or a draft for a Wikipedia article, about yourself, at Draft:Eric Talley. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – please see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to or change an existing article about yourself, you are welcome to propose the changes by visiting the article's talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was the page I created deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss this with the deleting administrator. Thank you. I've had several exchanges with other Wiki-police (JK!), explaining that I was attempting to address a situation where my name had gotten incorrectly associated with someone else, and an erroneous link resulted. That was why I created the page, so that the link invoking my name would have something to link "to". Bumbertwister (talk) 21:20, 22 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
Please don't insult other editors by calling them Wiki police, Wikipedia only has articles on notable people if you are notable someone other than you will certainly create an article. The "erroneous link" has been changed. Theroadislong (talk) 21:24, 22 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
"JK" means "Just Kidding" (which I was). Bumbertwister (talk) 21:26, 22 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
How would I know that JK meant just kidding? Theroadislong (talk) 21:28, 22 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
Nice one. Bumbertwister (talk) 21:29, 22 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

You are notable via our notability criteria for professors as you hold a named professorship, and the autobiography is so slim that there isn't any issues of conflict of interest, so I went ahead and accepted it.
