God games

edit

I take it you're satisfied with the current state since you only changed some typos? Btw, good and stimulating discussion over defining the genre! Nice with some non-confrontative cooperation on tne 'net once in a while! :) If you're interested, the two related pages life simulation games and economic simulation games could benefit from some creative input. --Mikademus 09:23, 27 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

I can't see why god games couldn't be turn-based. I personally haven't played Sandbox of God so you're more qualified to make an entry about it. As for the self-sustaining, wouldn't it be if you just kept on clicking "next turn" (or however the game works) without intervening? Anyway, I think a passage in the initial discussion along the lines of "though most GGs are real-time The Sandbox of God is an example of a turn-based GG". And yes, cooperation on the 'net, what are the odds for that?! :D --Mikademus 08:50, 28 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Flags and borders

edit

IF you notice adding the borders makes the following text appear on the next line. Can you fix this? If not then ill just revert --Larsinio 19:11, 26 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yeah I noticed but figured it was much better than just having a red dot... Anyway the consensus on the infobox wiki page for video games is not to put a flag beside the release date. So either A) we find a code to fix our problem (Still trying to find a way) B) we change the flag drawing to make it include a black border or C) we remove the flag and comply with the video game infobox consensus Bragador 19:30, 26 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Adjectives in Wikipedia

edit

I've reverted your change to astral projection as there is certainly no policy against adjectives on Wikipedia. Hell, the first sentence of today's featured article uses "important". — ceejayoz talk   04:02, 1 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

I reverted it back since the adjective "controversial" tends to remove the neutrality of the current article. Bragador 13:30, 1 November 2005 (UTC)Reply
Also about the fact that there is no policy against it. I'll remind you that articles must adopt the neutral point of view. I invite you to read any good encyclopedia or dictionary to notice that no adjectives are used unless absolutely necessary since it tends to change the ideas of the reader. The fact that something is controlversial or not is a conclusion that the reader must get to by himself. This is something they teach in every introductory science class. Afterall, isn't everything controversial ? I also checked today's article and it doesn't contain it in the article, only on the main page of wiki for the short description.Bragador 14:05, 1 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. I'd be happy to work with you on a "criticisms" section or the like to explain why it is controversial. — ceejayoz talk   01:14, 4 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Image Tagging Image:Astral.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Astral.jpg. The image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the image qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. -- Carnildo 15:02, 7 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Minsc

edit

The Minsc article explicitly states that he is an NPC. That's all I'm going off here, as I do know what a player character is... Cheers --Pak21 15:43, 5 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Flamme du centenaire article

edit

I just noticed that you recently added a French version of the Centennial Flame article to which I have made several contributions. I do have numerous references for this and I have plans to expand the article, but I will not be able to do this until at least the beginning of February. I greatly appreciate your efforts in adding French versions of such articles and I will try to let you know when I have added the references to the English one. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Biomiracle.png)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Biomiracle.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:06, 12 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
