Image:Peace dollar mint mark.jpg
Do you know the source of this image? I'm working on getting the Peace Dollar article up to either Good Article or Featured Article status, which means all images must be fully sourced. Thanks! --cholmes75 (chit chat) 18:23, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for the info. I've updated the info on the image page to reflect that. --cholmes75 (chit chat) 14:01, 26 June 2006 (UTC)

Commemoratives on the loose
Hey, I went thru everything User:Taurus876 did. Wikified, linked, shortened and what not except add content. I think they should all be good the way they are. Thnx :) Joe I 18:13, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
My recent edit to Coin
If it's purely a dealer site, no, that link shouldn't be there. (Interesting that nobody had removed it until now, though, cause I remember when it was posted about a month or two ago.)--chris.lawson 03:50, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
Hi Bobby, This is Jeff from aboutcoins.org. We read your post about one paragraph on the links to our site. We changed things around a bit and added more content. We also added some flash slide shows as well that are very interactive (User can pause, forward, reverse) We are interested in helping out wikipedia as well. We are attempting to build our site as quick as we can and we want to let you know that you can use any content or pictures from our site. Are there any areas that wiki needs to develop? You can reach me at jeff.beach@aboutcoins.org
Thanks,
Jeff
Orphaned non-free image (Image:Wheat cent reverse.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Wheat cent reverse.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 00:26, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
Online Krause and Pick catalogues
Bobby, sometimes things need to be changed, especially as far as numismatic articles goes. Wikipedia is an evolving project. I see nothing wrong with advocating an online version of the Standard Catalog of World Coins and the Standard Catalog of World Paper Money. Here's an example of an article that uses this style; Banknotes of the African Banking Corporation Limited (Rhodesia). Here's an article that still uses information from the Pick Specialised catalogue, but arranged in the order that the signatories served; Banknotes of Hyderabad. An online version of Krause & Pick will prove to be a very useful resource, considering that it will be updateable as soon as new banknotes, coins, medal-coins, and postal orders are issued, and new varieties in these, plus the traders' currency tokens that have been discovered. - (Numismaticman 21:50, 6 September 2007 (UTC))
- Aidan, just because you find something elsewhere here to back up your statements doesn't make them right. I could go find spam external links right now, doesn't make spamming right. Also using articles that you made as examples, doesn't mean a whole lot. Bobby I'm Here, Are You There? 22:15, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
British Commonwealth Numismatic Forum
Bobby, can you please let the members on Coin Community know that it can now be found here. There is now a Real Names Policy in force on there to weed out the spammers. - (203.211.79.187 01:45, 13 November 2007 (UTC))
- Aidan please don't post links or anything on my page. In case you haven't figured it out, I really don't like you, and you're not welcome on Wikipedia. Bobby I'm Here, Are You There? 20:23, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
Bobby, as seen as you're behaving like an idiot, just like User:Hu and User:Kiand are, you are not welcome on the British Commonwealth Numismatic Forum. I hope that you have a nice life and a nice trip down into the Lake of Fire in Hell. - (203.211.79.187 (talk) 12:12, 24 November 2007 (UTC))

December 2007
Hello. Regarding the recent revert you made to Indian Head nickel: You may already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit was inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. Thank you. -MBK004 02:13, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
January 2008
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on United States dollar. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. Apologies for templating a regular, but this is necessary. -MBK004 02:28, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
- It's OK, I still love you, and I promise I'll behave. :-) Bobby I'm Here, Are You There? 04:28, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

Link removed from coins
On the article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coin#External_links You have removed the link to * Colnect - Listing ~12,000 coins by years.
What did you mean by affiliate riddled? Colnect offers a free to all (no registration required) catalog. Collectors who register (also free) can also manage their personal coin collection there. Why do you find it an irrelevant external link? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.172.156.134 (talk) 07:29, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
- It's not irrelevant, it's commercial spam and becoming more so every day. Every page is already plastered with AdSense, now eBay affiliate links are being systematically added to all the pages. It has also been blocked for spam before. Bobby I'm Here, Are You There? 13:29, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
It's not spam since it provides original content. Since the site offers all its services for FREE, the ads help in supporting it. If this violates any of Wikipedia's rules, please specify exactly which. If it doesn't, undo your changes. As I've noticed you have been promoting your own site in numerous coin-related articles, I'm sorry to say I doubt your neutrality. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.172.156.134 (talk) 17:24, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
- Nice deflection, shifting the discussion to me. ;-) My situation has been discussed and put to bed long ago. In fact, I have gone out of my way to try and make sure links to my site go to pages with no ads, even to the point of dynamically coding some pages to detect the referrer and delete ads if it comes from Wikipedia. It seems you even tried to make me look bad here before posting this. But enough about me. In my opinion and at least one admin here, the link does not provide much value over and above the articles themselves especially for the amount of advertising, see here. Bobby I'm Here, Are You There? 19:36, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
There was no intent for deflection as the response to the subject at hand was the first and important part of the response. Having ads on a site linked to in Wikipedia is not a violation of any of Wikipedia's rules as you're quite aware (and I am completely aware of the rules you've linked to). If this is the biggest problem, perhaps contacting the site operators would be willing to do that. Let me know and I'll contact them. Mind there was no intent to make you look bad by removing an invalid link and fixing another one. Your site's link has not been touched there. The opinion of the admin you mention is from May 2008 and AFAIK, Colnect has its coins section (http://coins.colnect.com) only from October thus it's irrelevant (the link there is http://colnect.com and not http://coins.colnect.com). To repeat my case here: Colnect provides a FREE catalog that can be browsed by anyone without registration. It's a valuable resource to collectors and thus is very relevant in the context it was added. This is even without the registration which allows me to match my collection with other collectors (also for FREE). If ads are the only problem, please undo your changes and I'll contact Colnect (or you can do it as well). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.172.156.134 (talk) 22:19, 26 November 2008 (UTC) Unfortunate you're choosing not to respond. BTW: some pages of your site that are linked to by Wikipedia do have AdSense ads on them. Not that it violates the rules, but you claimed otherwise. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.172.156.134 (talk) 08:47, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
Refs?
Regarding: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Standing_Liberty_Quarter&diff=256957967&oldid=256957653
For what reason have you repeatedly removed the extra information and decided that it's more important that a reference be included there? —Preceding unsigned comment added by JoshXF (talk • contribs) 01:40, 10 December 2008 (UTC)
- Because you are making a continuous run of unproductive edits that started here. Bobby I'm Here, Are You There? 01:46, 10 December 2008 (UTC)
Cleaning some coin articles of spam links is not "unproductive edits". Are you affiliated with any of these organizations? --JoshXF (talk) 07:40, 10 December 2008 (UTC)
- This user is the same user as above and is affiliated with colnect.com. This user's contribs are here, here and here and is on a mission to slip his site into external links. When confronted, the result was the removing of relevant links en masse until confronted again. Bobby I'm Here, Are You There? 10:28, 10 December 2008 (UTC)
How do you make up your wrong assumptions??? After reading your discussion page, it seems to me you are promoting agendas for your own, rather than Wikipedia users, benefit. When confronted with a direct question, you commence an attack to divert the discussion of its original topic. You have not responded to the original question of this discussion (appearing on the top here) and continue to avoid it. An on-topic reply would be more welcomed than untruthful statements. Perhaps you should re-consider what your interests in editing Wikipedia are. Personally, I'm just trying to help make it better and not to promote any agenda. --JoshXF (talk) 11:00, 10 December 2008 (UTC)
- I certainly do not have to answer to you and your obvious attempts at deflection and I will not. Bobby I'm Here, Are You There? 14:29, 10 December 2008 (UTC)
You don't have to answer me or to me but if you're not going to provide a good reason for the change you have reverted (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Standing_Liberty_Quarter&diff=256957967&oldid=256957653), I will feel free to undo your revert which doesn't seem to serve the better interest of Wikipedia readers. The was the original topic of this discussion and is of more interest to me than your suggestion of me being someone else. --JoshXF (talk) 19:47, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
Removal of Philatelic Investor from External Links to Philatelic Investment article
Hi
Am new to Wikipdia so hope I am using the right protocol!
I added the link to www.philatelicinvestor.com as I believed it would add value to the Philatelic Investment pages.
I am the author of this site but it is not commercial - it is purely to act as a signpost and offer advice (if you view the site you will see that it is heavily text based, no adverts etc)- I thought Wikipedia would be a good place to share this information with the wider community.
If you still believe that it is inappropriate then so be it, I won't push against a closed door! But I do believe that it adds significant value to the article above.
Would you review once again?
My thanks and regards Nick
Removal Of link from Gold Coins Article
Can you explain to me which of Wikipedias guidelines this link violates? It is not spam, the linked page contains no adverts, only original content that we as the site authors feel is relevant & useful.
What else are "external links" sections for if not external links? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jonhunt1 (talk • contribs) 15:06, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
- First of all it's a conflict of interest, adding links to your own site. Second, have a look at External Links guidelines, several apply here. The site in question is a commercial site quite obviously designed specifically to make money using affiliate programs. The opening paragraph on the home page makes that crystal clear. Bobby I'm Here, Are You There? 15:17, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
OK. So it seems that now I know. Thank you for your guidance on this. I won't continue to push on a closed door. I only observation I would make is that little courtesy costs nothing. Very in keeping with Wikipedias non-commercial Philosophy I'm sure you will agree. Thanks again. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jonhunt1 (talk • contribs) 15:48, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
