You seem to have misunderstood my intention. I was not trying to 'lighten up' anything, and that was certainly not a joke edit. Tidbit is a misspelling of titbit. See here: https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/titbit Tit is an old English word meaning small, hence blue tit, coal tit etc. (all small birds). Tidbit is a corruption of this, and seems to derive from Americans erroneously considering this a dirty word.
