Bluelacy
I need help. I was trying to edit and I guess didn't do a great job. I tried to mark the areas that were wrong and put third party references. I did get a message stating that the Texas legislator work and book references to the breed from before any disputes were not as good as actual breed clubs info. working with the breed. There are two original and official Blue Lacy clubs that have the same information that the Texas Legislator website and other have. First one is the TLGDA www.lacydog.com and LGDR www.bluelacydogs.org.
Again, I tried to edit and now it has been changed again. If anyone knows how to edit properly I saved the changes and errors.
The NLDA. www.nationallacydog.org is a splintered group from the TLGDA and is trying to change information around to bring credibility to themselves. This very new group does not have the Blue Lacy's best interest at hand. Please help us keep accurate information up regarding this breed. Lacy dogs are strong and agile, lightly built but proportional within the height-to-weight ratio. the "Lacy stands from 18 to 25 inches tall when full-grown and weighs approximately 30 to 50 pounds."(Reference: http://www.netstate.com/states/symb/dogs/tx_blue_lacy.htm) Dependent on height and working condition, weight should be approximately 30 to 45 pounds for females and 35 to 55 pounds for males. running trap lines,[2] and hunting wild hogs[3]. Modern activities like agility that stress intelligence, passion, speed and nimbleness may be appropriate substitutes for traditional work.[4]

Blue Lacys are very healthy dogs. Developed for generations to meet the standards of professional Texas ranchers and hunters, they are sturdy enough to withstand tough terrain and difficult working conditions. However skin problems and food allergies can occur. Color dilution alopecia is very rare but has occurred in Lacys.[5]
History
"The Blue Lacy is a Texas original; the only dog breed to have originated in this state, Lacys are named for brothers George, Ewin, Frank, and Harry Lacy, who moved to Texas from Kentucky in 1858 and settled in the area of Burnet County". "The family is said to have used greyhound, scenthound, and coyote stock in creating the animal that took their name. (False) The dog, according to the Lacys, was a mixture of English Shepherd (or perhaps coyote), Greyhound, and wolf.[6] The brothers originally developed their natural herding instincts to work their free-roaming hogs.[7]
On March 15, 2005, in the 79th Legislature of the State of Texas, Representative Joaquin Castro filed House Concurrent Resolution No. 108 proposing the Blue Lacy as state dog of Texas. This legislation was proposed to recognize the original breeders and their contribution to the State of Texas as well as to honor the Lacy as a Texas original. House Concurrent Resolution No. 108 was adopted by the Texas House of Representatives on May 15, 2005, and by the Senate ten days later on May 25, 2005. Governor Rick Perry signed the legislation adopting the Lacy as "the official State Dog Breed of Texas" on June 18, 2005.[1]
The Blue Lacy was proposed by some in 2008 to replace Reveille VII, a collie, as the mascot dog of Texas A&M.[8] In accordance with tradition since Reveille III, however, a collie was chosen. - I can see that you are--I spent two hours this morning cleaning up the article, copyediting, moving references into templates, and you have--how do I say this gently?--made an utter mess of it, even managing to remove the reference list. Please do not undo other editors' work until you have learned how to properly write, introduce, and cite information. Drmies (talk) 18:56, 14 March 2009 (UTC)
- The article is restored to its original correct version; I've also tried to work in some of the contentual changes you seemed to have wanted made. Glad to have been of service. It seems as if there is a war going on between two competing groups of breeders (or fans) of this dog over whether the beast should be 21 or 25 inches, precisely what kind of animal went into composing this pretty mutt, etc. That's fine--but please do not work those disagreements out in Wikipedia articles. You have one authority, that of the Texas legislation; the other side has another, their own club's website. Is that what it is? Well, the Texas legislature is not a dog club, and the other camp's website is not a book authorized by the American Kennel Club, so neither one is the ultimate authority. If needs be, and if the other side also starts removing and altering information, perhaps an edit block may be called for. Drmies (talk) 19:18, 14 March 2009 (UTC)
AfDs are usually meant to continue for 5 days. However, you clearly (and this is not an insult at all) don't understand the criteria for an AfD. If this were a non-notable 'breed' claim made up by an individual, then sure, deleting it would almost certainly make sense. But in this case, you are simply saying that the article has errors, and we don't delete articles for errors.
So, to simplify things, I'd appreciate it if you would post to the AfD withdrawing the nomination.
You need to know that the AfD itself is being discussed at the Administors' Notice Board/Incidents - here [1]. I think this is all a misunderstanding, and the place to discuss it is the talk page of the Blue Lacy article.
