Tyson / height edit

Greetings. I think in this case a tale of the tape can be overruled by a source (the Mirror one) which actually discusses his height in detail. It's certainly better than BoxRec, which never provides any sources for their stats. Mac Dreamstate (talk) 00:25, 23 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

HBO's Tale of the tape prior to his Lennox Lewis fight listed him as 5'11 and when you look at his fights youtube, his tale of the tapes always hovers around 5'11 / 5'11+1/2. BlizzyBlizz (talk) 05:06, 23 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Pacquiao/weight classes edit

Greetings. You've twice added hyphens to the weight classes on his article, when that shouldn't be the case as he was entirely based in the U.S. – where hyphens are not used – for more than half of his career. Also, why have you started making edits like this? That's incorrect, as Ugas was immediately promoted from Regular to Super and didn't win it vacant. Golovkin edit

Twice you've removed information that clarified how Golovkin gained his titles – [1], [2]. Geale was stripped, and Álvarez vacated. Why do you keep removing these? Mac Dreamstate (talk) 17:59, 1 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

RfC on upcoming fights in record tables edit

Greetings. You are invited to participate in an RfC on whether to include or omit upcoming fights in professional boxing record tables. Mac Dreamstate (talk) 18:09, 21 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Consensus was to no longer add upcoming fights to record tables—only when they've taken place. Mac Dreamstate (talk) 18:25, 25 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Naseem Hamed/The Ring edit

Greetings. How do you think this development should be represented on the champions list, if at all? It's certainly a unique case. Mac Dreamstate (talk) 19:39, 19 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi, personally no. Although Nazeem deserved it, there are a lot of “could've been" ring magazine champions in between 1989 - 2002. Let it stay as an "award" like Jeff Fenech’s WBC 130 lb title. BlizzyBlizz (talk) 21:13, 21 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
That's an excellent solution. I've amended my own edit at Hamed's succession box here: [3]. Mac Dreamstate (talk) 22:06, 21 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Rolly Romero edit

Seems like no-one noticed that he was made Champion in Recess in November. Could the champions list be updated to reflect this? Mac Dreamstate (talk) 20:11, 28 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi Mac,
Seems that it's not vacated by WBA?? Kinda confusing thoug how to proceed. M\ BlizzyBlizz (talk) 19:28, 31 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
Ugh.. that's just typical for them. Two concepts—"champion" and "champion in recess"—which logically cannot be interchanged. I may go back and revert my edits on this, but the current champions list will look a bit weird having him as "champion in recess" when every other instance has warranted a boxer's removal from the list.
