Your username

edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "Blackburn cycle", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it appears to represent an organisation rather than an individual, see WP:CORPNAME. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username by completing this form, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. --David Biddulph (talk) 09:03, 14 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hello David Biddulph, Thank you for your reply. I am a private inventor and not involved in any company. The name of this concept as used elsewhere like search engines is 'Blackburn Cycle' it has nothing to do with bicycles but a thermodynamic cycle like other cycles including Otto, Sterling, Atkinson, Miller etc. When I searched Wikipedia for Blackburn Cycle Engine your site indicated that I should be able to create an entry. I find some of your pages difficult to use, but I would like to keep my username. Please advise if further actions are needed. Best regards Anthony Blackburn (talk) 09:38, 14 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
I'm well aware that the subject with which you are concerned is nothing to do with bicycles. The fact that you run an enterprise for commercial purposes at http://www.blackburncycleengine.co.uk/ is liable to lead administrators to believe that WP:CORPNAME applies. If you are truly a one-man band then perhaps the question of attribution isn't so significant, but I'll leave it to the admins to consider that. You certainly ought to read about Wikipedia's views on conflict of interest. --David Biddulph (talk) 10:01, 14 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
