Third Phase

Hi, I am sorry that I haven't yet posted anything regarding the history of Games with a Purpose. I meant to have my section pretty much does but the end of this weekend so that you could have time to comment on it. Unfortunately, my other work is taking longer than expected. I am sorry for the delay and I will have my edits up in my sandbox as soon as possible. Dbl rt (talk) 03:31, 23 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi Blab, I have read your proposed section and here are my comments:

You say Luis von Ahn proposed "human algorithm games" - is this the correct terminology (not games with a purpose or human-based computation games?

I made a few changes to your second paragraph, here they are - The tasks presented in these games are usually trivial for humans, but difficult for computers. These tasks include labeling images, transcribing ancient texts, common sense or human experience based activities, and more. GwaPs motivate people through entertainment rather than an interest in solving computation problems. This makes them more appealing to a larger audience. GwaPs can be used to help build the semantic web, annotate and classify collected data, crowdsource general knowledge, and improving other general computer processes.

I'm not sure where this sentence should go - Human intellect is an important resource and contribution to the enhancement of computer processing and human computer interaction.

I would change your last sentence to something like this - In applications such as these, games with a purpose have lowered the cost of annotating data and increased the level of human participation.

In all I like what you have written. These are just suggestions and feel free to completely ignore any you disagree with. I have posted a rough outline of the history of GwaPs in my sandbox: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Dbl_rt/sandbox Please take a look when you get the chance. I hope you comments are helpful. Thank you! I will take a look later at your suggestions. The articles are read stated that the original name was human algorithm games but it is all human based computation games. The human is part of the computation or algorithm - it is all the same Blab1234 (talk) 12:35, 1 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi Blab,

I took your comments into account and made changes to my section in my sandbox, please take a look. Also references 5 and 6 contain information pertaining to the section on the whole so I stuck them at the end. Is this correct? Thanks! Dbl rt (talk) 17:18, 1 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

I have posted changes according to your suggestion. You can have a look at it when you are free. Qiangli802 (talk) 22:33, 1 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
