Welcome!

edit

Hello, BigPunisher, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate encyclopedic contributions, but some of your recent contributions, such as your edit to the page Busta Rhymes, have removed content without an explanation. If you'd like to experiment with the wiki's syntax, please do so in the sandbox rather than in articles.

If you still have questions, there is a new contributors' help page, or you can place {{helpme}} on your talk page along with a question and someone will be along to answer it shortly. You may also find the following pages useful for a general introduction to Wikipedia:

I hope you enjoy editing Wikipedia! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Feel free to write a note on the bottom of my talk page if you want to get in touch with me. Again, welcome! Jason Quinn (talk) 07:19, 24 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

September 2016

edit

Hello, I'm Jim1138. I noticed that in this edit to Neef Buck, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Jim1138 (talk) 01:00, 25 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Please do not attack other editors, as you did with this edit to User_talk:Jim1138. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. Jim1138 (talk) 01:17, 25 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to blank out or remove content, templates, or other materials to Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to Neef Buck, you may be blocked from editing. Jim1138 (talk) 01:24, 25 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Please use edit summaries

edit

Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. Thanks! Jim1138 (talk) 01:25, 25 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

References

edit

Adding references is how we ensure that content is valid. Without references, a reader can not easily validate information and there is no presumption of accuracy. See Help:Referencing for beginners and Help:footnotes. This is covered by the Wikipedia policy of wp:verifiability (WP:V). Please wp:cite your edits with wp:reliable sources (RS). Per WP:V unsourced content can be removed. Thank you Jim1138 (talk) 01:24, 25 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you make a personal attack, as you did with this edit to User talk:Jim1138. Comment on content, not on other contributors or people. WikiPuppies bark dig 01:34, 25 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Moral support

edit

Hi, Big Punisher. It looks like you are right about the labels for Neef Beef. I see you are having a bumpy start on Wikipedia. Don't worry, it happens. I think it might be largely because you are making too many changes and not informing editors exactly why you are making the changes. As others have pointed out, using sources is important, especially when removing material. In the case of "Coc-A-Fella" records (which appears to be vandalism), you were right to remove it even though unsourced. It takes a while to get used to the ways around here and I hope your initial experience doesn't turn you off. Just remember that even if people undo your edits, their goal is to improve the encyclopedia. Cheers, Jason Quinn (talk) 07:47, 25 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
