September 2024 COI

edit

Hello Bibabeloulap83. Considering you just joined Wikipedia and your only edit has been an extensive edit of Peachtree Corners, Georgia (which another editor has reverted), do you have any connection at all with the city of Peachtree Corners? Are you aware of Wikipedia's conflict of interest policies? (including: "COI editing is strongly discouraged on Wikipedia. Editors with a COI are expected to disclose it whenever they seek to change an affected article's content. Anyone editing for pay must disclose who is paying them, who the client is, and any other relevant affiliation; this is a requirement of the Wikimedia Foundation. COI editors are strongly discouraged from editing affected articles directly, and can propose changes on article talk pages instead after disclosing a conflict of interest. Hello, I actually work the City of Peachtree Corners and realized that some information were incomplete or obsolete. Therefore I would appreciate if you could reinstate my changes. All my changes can be verified Bibabeloulap83 (talk) 12:05, 18 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hello Bibabeloulap83. Before the Peachtree Corners, Georgia article is re-edited, some information, questions, and requested input:
(A) We do not list city council members per WP:USCITIES:Wikipedia:WikiProject Cities/US Guideline#Government "Avoid listing all city council members...".
(B) I don't know if MassMutual should be deleted as their website shows a Peachtree Corners location: https://perimeter.massmutual.com. What is your information?
(C) Fleetcor should continue to have a wikilink with brackets : Fleetcor.
(D) As to your adding https://www.hfecorp.com:Herschend Family Entertainment, parent company of Dollywood, https://www.molnlycke.us Molnlycke, and https://www.pondco.com Pond& Company - per WP:NOELBODY "With rare exceptions, external links should not be used in the body of an article" and these should not be added to Peachtree Corners, Georgia.
(E) Since Herschend Family Entertainment has a wikiarticle that includes the Harlem Globtrotters, I think it could be readded with brackets as Herschend Family Entertainment, but referencing Dollywood is unnecessary and seems extraneous.
(F) Similarly, Molnlycke could be added with brackets as Mölnlycke Health Care but, since its wikiarticle doesn't mention Peachtree Corners, you need to find at least one reliable source to cite as to its Peachtree Corners location.
(G) Since Pond & Company has no wikiarticle it might be well to leave it off.
(H) Although not completely necessary, to avoid controversy from editors, including Magnolia677 (who reverted your edit), you should find reliable sources for up to date locations of United Arab Shipping Company and Comcast Corporation headquarters.
(I) I noticed Magnolia677 removed a picture of the Chattahoochee (at the right)

The Chattahoochee River, seen here at Jones Bridge Park, flows through many of Peachtree Corners' neighborhoods.
with the edit summary: "info on the photo states this was not taken in Peachtree Corners" but information on the photo was "Chattahoochee River in Norcross, Georgia" - I am inclined to readd the image - any thoughts on this?
(J) After you have given and considered the information, the suggested edits can be outlined on the Peachtree Corners talk page (Talk:Peachtree Corners, Georgia) and that page can be referenced in the new edit.
(K) For the future, please follow the COI information I have supplied including placing suggested edits on talk pages by using the edit COI template with around the words: edit COI.
(L) At some point, Please take some time to familiarize yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively. And you can always ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk.
I hope all this is helpful. Kind regards, Quaerens-veritatem (talk) 02:37, 19 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

September 2024 Editing without valid reasons - edit summaries

edit

Hello Bibabeloulap83. As stated, above, COI editors are strongly discouraged from editing affected articles directly and can propose changes on article talk pages instead after disclosing a conflict of interest. In any event, please do not remove and change content from pages on Wikipedia, as you did at Peachtree Corners, Georgia , without providing reliable sources substantiating your edits and giving valid reasons for the removal and changes in the edit summary. You should provide a summary of every edit you make per Wikipedia's consensus policy. Also, you marked your edit as minor (m), but only edits consisting solely of spelling corrections, formatting changes, or rearrangement of text without modification of the content may be flagged as minor edits. Without valid reasons your edit of Peachtree Corners, Georgia appears disruptive and was reverted by another editor. Repeated disruptive editing will result in the loss of editing privileges. You can reply to this paragraph here by tapping the blue "reply" after my signature. Thanks, Quaerens-veritatem (talk) 06:22, 18 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello again,I'm not sure why my edit were considered disruptive, I removed the name of a company that is not longer in the City, I added the name of a council member that was elected in 2024... Since I work for the City , I wanted to make sure this is as accurate as possible. Bibabeloulap83 (talk) 12:48, 18 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hello, again, Bibabeloulap83. As I stated, without more your "minor" edits (only edits consisting solely of spelling corrections, formatting changes, or rearrangement of text without modification of the content may be flagged as minor edits) were not fully explained on the edit summary or on the Peachtree Corners talk page (Talk:Peachtree Corners, Georgia) as required specially for COI editors. There were no reliable sources substantiating your edits or the providing of valid reasons for the removal and changes. Also, per above, some edits were against Wikipedia precepts. All this caused your edits to be reverted by Magnolia 677. As a brand-new editor, you should get a pass, and we look forward to your contributions. By the way, what do you do for the city? Kind regards, Quaerens-veritatem (talk) 02:50, 19 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hello Bibabeloulap83. Any update per first, September 2024 COI, thread and my above question? Quaerens-veritatem (talk) 04:15, 26 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
