Tash Sultana: Lack of conistency in grammar.

I realize this is a delicate, odd and complex matter, but I'm wondering over the lack of consistency when it comes to pop/rock artist Tash Sultana. In the introduction, it says "Tash Sultana (born 15 June 1995) is an Australian singer-songwriter...", then "Sultana grew up in Melbourne, and has been playing...".

Under 'Career', it first states "From 2008 to 2012, Sultana was the vocalist of the band Mindpilot...". But in the next paragraph, suddenly it changes to "In the same year, they won...", and from then on it's they/their/them.

I'm not disputing the artist's wish to be called "they", I'm just confused over the sudden change from singular to plural from one paragraph to another.

Besserwissern, Tash Sultana identifies as Non-binary and prefers They/Them pronouns. They/them can be singular and plural depending on how it’s being used, hence most the article being singular :) Adamshaheedh (talk) 06:52, 15 May 2021 (UTC)

No, Wikipedia is not a reliable source. Most people with a few months editing experience know that. You've edited over 10 years. Yes, most people who edit here have more important things to do than follow behind you cleaning up your messes. But when you blatantly violate policy, you waste everyone's time. Yes, I've listened to Klaatu's music all of my adult life. But that is entirely irrelevant. Having knowledge of their music doesn't bestow ownership of the article on you to edit as you please without regard to policies. You have to follow the rules just like everyone else. "YOU DON'T KNOW ME!", as Americans would say...and actually, I've been editing (unregistered at first) Swedish, Norwegian, Spanish, English, Danish, Dutch, Italian and possibly more Wikipedia for 15 years, as well as Discogs for 10-12 and IMDb for 25. And yes, I learned the hard way, and always complied according to the rules. Not w/o a fight, though. It's in my nature, and always has been. And why Klaatu would NOT be named after you-know-what is so far-fetched, it actually borders to both ignorance and self-aggrandizement. I urge you to step down from your pedestal.

Elaine Joyce edit

I have reverted the changes that you made to Elaine Joyce. I noticed that you added no citations to the text of the article, while your edit summary said

Birthdate is the same everywhere, and most sources say she's born in Kansas City, Missouri; https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0431519/bio, https://www.thefamouspeople.com/profiles/elaine-joyce-44109.php)

Neither of the two web sites that you mentioned in the edit summary is a reliable source for use in Wikipedia articles because both are WP:USERGENERATED.

With regard to a date of birth, in addition to Wikipedia's basic principle of citing sources (Wikipedia:Citing sources), a special need for citations applies with regard to elements of a biography of a living person (WP:BLPPRIVACY). Therefore we need at least one credible source to include a date of birth for Joyce.

With regard to the place of birth, the cited article from The Post-Crescent quotes Joyce: "I was born in Cleveland, where I stayed until I was three. . . ." Something more than content of user-generated websites will be needed to replace Cleveland with some other location. Eddie Blick (talk) 02:06, 19 June 2023 (UTC)

Fair enough. I made a try, and expected a negative response. In Sweden, noone can hide, whereas many Americans (not just in Tinseltown or in any showbiz) lie about their origin, date and year of birth and so on...totally impossible here.
