Talk Page I have permission from the author to display this text. This is the third message that I have recieved and nobody has offered to even help. All of the messages have contained threats and insults to myself and Steve and Doris Colgate. I feel that the editors of are being un fair and unproffesional. if you supply guidelines for "talk" then even you guy should follow them. I am very frustrated. This is my first time using Wikipedia, and probably my last. I have an email from the author with the text that I posted on the page. And I have full permision to use all text and photos. What else do you want from me!!!

Please do not post copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to Steve Colgate. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites (http://www.offshore-sailing.com/AboutOffshore/OurTeam/stevedoris.asp in this case) or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

  • If you have permission from the author leave a message explaining the details on the article Talk page and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
  • If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Steve Colgate with a link to where we can find that note;
  • If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on the article Talk page. Alternatively, you may create a note on your web page releasing the work under the GFDL and then leave a note at Talk:Steve Colgate with a link to the details.

Otherwise, you are encouraged to rewrite this article in your own words to avoid any copyright infringement. After you do so, you should place a {{hangon}} tag on the article page and leave a note at Talk:Steve Colgate saying you have done so. An administrator will review the new content before taking action.

It is also important that all Wikipedia articles have an encyclopedic tone and follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Steve Colgate

edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have perfomed a web search with the contents of Steve Colgate, and it appears to be a substantial copy of http://www.offshore-sailing.com/AboutOffshore/OurTeam/stevedoris.asp. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot 20:32, 13 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Doris.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI 20:44, 13 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading Image:Steve Colgate.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:Steve Colgate.JPG. The copy called Image:Steve Colgate.JPG has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 01:15, 14 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

A tag has been placed on Steve colgate, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Discgolfrules 01:29, 14 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Stop uploading copyrighted text, this is your last warning

edit

Please stop uploading copyrighted text, as you did to Steve Colgate. If you do so again, without explanation, you may be blocked from further editing. The Evil Spartan 19:48, 14 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hello, you say on the talk page that you have copyright permission for these articles. Can you prove that somehow? Splash - tk 22:27, 14 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Wait

edit

The best thing is to stop trying to create articles. Wait until an established Wikipedia editor with no COI thinks the Colgates are notable and writes them up. If you think the messages are "threats and insults", then you are clearly far too thin skinned to edit here. Most of the message were from bots anyway! -- RHaworth 07:11, 15 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
