Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Flimap edit

It seems as if you did not complete this AfD nomination properly (there was no article header). I've fixed this for you, but in the future, I would recommend you read through the AfD instructions on the template before you nominate an article, or other people have to fix these things for you. Just a friendly reminder. Contact me if you need any help with this or anything else. (|-- UlTiMuS 02:08, 2 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Uknewthat edit

Hi Justin, the blocks will get progressively longer until he starts editing within the policies. I know nothing about the issues but it seems obvious he's engaged in OR designed to show that Einstein was wrong or something. Keep on letting me know if he turns up again to make the same edits in case I don't notice. Cheers, SlimVirgin (talk) 05:44, 22 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Health edit

Hi Authalic,

I greatly appreciate your help in reverting vandalism and spam on articles. Your efforts greatly improve the quality of Wikipedia. Could I ask one small favor? When you revert a vandal or spammer could you leave them an appropriate {{test}} or {{spam}} warning on their talk page? Its important to do this because the vandalism often stops when a user knows they have been spotted. It also helps other editors know about the user's past activities. You can find more information about warning users at recent changes patrol. Again, many thanks for your help. Best, Gwernol 00:43, 4 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'm not in the band The Shiny Diamonds edit

In fact, I have never even met them before. I currently live in Paris and they live in Vancouver (my home town). I heard their music for the first time today on their myspace page. I created The Shiny Diamonds controversy page because I firmly believe that it can meet all wikipedia policies and guidelines. It has been covered by CBC Radio One, the Washington Post, and by City News International. My main motivation for getting this one article to stay alive is that I believe that wikipedia should not become the sum of SOME human knowledge. I recently learned that I'm an inclusionist. Because I'm a still learning the proper ways to create articles on Wikipedia, I have probably screwed it all up. I could really use some help from someone like you. Thank you for your help so far. Re your recent CfD nominations edit

Hi Justin,

Wikipedia:Categories for deletion/Log/2006 December 20#Category:Early Grand Canyon River-Runners
Wikipedia:Categories for deletion/Log/2006 December 20#Category:Early Grand Canyon River Runners

Just to let you know that if you create a category and then spot a mistake in its name, replacing whatever you've put on its page with "{{db-author|reason for deletion}}" should mean it'll be deleted pretty quickly. Best wishes, David Kernow (talk) 08:48, 20 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
PS Have speedy-deleted the two categories nominated above.

Thanks for letting me know about that option. I'm quite new to the Categories namespace and I'm not aware of all of the procedures. And thanks for taking care of the deletion. - Justin (Authalic) 17:05, 20 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
My pleasure!  David (talk) 20:04, 20 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Uknewthat edit

Howdy.

Rest assured, the page only had four edits to it, two inconsequential by the banned user. It was never tagged with a sock or banned template, you are more than welcome to do that if you can provide the diff links in the template. I appreciate the heads-up, I'll keep an eye out! Teke (talk) 04:51, 5 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • The user is indefinately banned from editing with that account, blocked accounts can only access their own talk page. Happy editing to you! Teke (talk) 05:29, 5 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Mesoamerican archaeology and Latter Day Saint scholars edit

Interesting article, Authalic. I added an image of a Mesamerican wheeled figurine to it, which adds a bit of pizazz and demonstrates a point the article was trying to make. Do you have any references for the Olmec-as-Jaredite theory? We could use a bit more information and references at Olmec alternative origin speculations. Thanks, Madman 03:58, 20 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

2019 US Banknote Contest edit

  US Banknote Contest
November-December 2019

There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons.

In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate.

If you do not want to receive invitations to future US Banknote Contests, follow the instructions here
