Confict-of-interest

  Hello, Atelier-KaRo. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

@Ohnoitsjamie
What's the solution? Does somebody else has to make this page?
Karimi is well known by other authors and the Iranian community. I'm sure if any of this information is wrong, biased or exaggerated it won't take long to be discussed and corrected. Nevertheless, I'm happy to deliver proof if it's possible. What made you believe the person isn't of public interest? That could help to deliver what you need. But if the issue is that the page was made by me, I'm afraid you'll insist on conflict of interest what ever I write or deliver. Atelier-KaRo (talk) 21:38, 7 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
Please address the WP:COI concerns described in the notice above. The notability of the subject is a separate issue.OhNoitsJamie Talk 21:39, 7 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Can I take over the article? I'm not related in anyway with Karimi. FreeBijan (talk) 21:38, 8 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Someone else "taking over the article" does not address the notability issue in any way. OhNoitsJamie Talk 21:48, 8 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Ohnoitsjamie
I got your "fishy" message but I couldn't answer it. So I'll do it somewhere you'll see it.
I don't know if this is supposed to be childish, funny, paranoid or desperate. Do you think Iranian opposition members abroad are naive or dumb and have never heard of a VPN? From which place would you like us to contact you next time? My identity is clear. So you were spying on the other one? I have relatives and friends on 5 continents, why should I approach it like this? Also, "Bijan" himself said on the talk page that he signed up specifically because of this article. Are all Wikipedia administrators spying on Iranian dissidents? Which other steps to find our identity did you take? Dude, you're not only commited to delete this page you're trying to find us personally. Wow, that's more than creepy. I was today with about hundred other Iranians directly at the front of the Iranian Embassy and have demonstrated. Maybe I send you a Twitter link. This will make your spy-job easier. However, I hope you know what you're doing. Targeting members of an opposition that is permanently threatened by the terroristic dictatorship these days might not be the best somebody could do. I hope it's worth it.
Please don't be confused finding this message twice I'm a bit confused of all this different places you put your messages. It's really like Asterix in Egypt. Couldn't you do it directly in the talk page of the article? Or is it a part of the game? Atelier-KaRo (talk) 04:54, 10 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

I'm talking about the COI issue. Would it help? Or are you just committed to delete this page? FreeBijan (talk) 21:54, 8 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

There was no answer to my question here so I posted the topic in the "Literature Club" and asked for advice. Different aspects were discussed. The problem seems to be known. Wikipedia's rules are indeed "white". Other cultures do not condone many things that are allowed in articles pertaining to Europeans or Americans. As a first recommendation, you should delete some personal data. These are important and necessary for our culture and a sign of transparency and a sign that we are not afraid of dictatorships but not for this w"hite culture". Actors whose parents are dancers, musicians and siblings are also actors are very numerous and there is not even a discussion about them on Wikipedia if there names are mentioned. But we need dozens of proof. Even if you deliver proof, they tell you it's not enough or it doesn't count. It's a white world. However, many felt his brothers should not be taken out under any circumstances. FreeBijan (talk) 20:04, 9 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thank you Bijan. I also inquired about the Telegram "literary circle" with more than 70,000 members and experienced something similar. The anti-Iranian sentiment was discussed there a little more intensely, but other cultures were also addressed. The Wikipedia rules not only prevent us from providing a culturally appropriate representation and description, but also others. That's why you hardly find any Maori or other indigenous people. If anything can be found at all then it is the "White perspective" of their culture. Ultimately, what is referred to as cultural neocolonialism. Many nations have bowed to this altogether (as in South Asia, where the entire education system is all "White"), everyone else has disengaged.
Another aspect was also discussed. It was about ChatGPT. So far, online platforms like Wikipedia have had such an important position because Google has made a useful online research difficult with its completely non-transparent and exaggerated advertising strategies. AI-based systems will compile the answers and take all sources into account in the future. Then other cultures will need separate platforms so that the AI can access and hopefully represent more neutrally. Eg ChatGPT shows already a great understanding of Maori culture.
Movements like Black Lives Matter show that even within the "white" world, the fight against discrimination is in full swing. The problem is not limited to the US. In Germany, France etc. it is no different. We are viewed, treated and judged as enemies. Wikipedia hides behind rules. One must not forget that all systems have always acted with the help of rules and laws. Rules and laws of the same nations ensure that discrimination is possible even there.
Anyway, I'll take the advice and self-censor. But I don't think these people will be happy with that. We will see.

@Ohnoitsjamie What an easy way to silence people! Then deleting whatever you want. I've already started to go a bit more public. Feel free to take action but don't forget that there are many lawyers and organisations that don't like protected opposition members to be spied on.
Who would have thought that this article could have brought us here.

Request reason:

This accusations are nonsense and just a cover-up the deletion of a well-known Iranian poet. Do Iranian need to protest in front of Wikipedia offices to take us seriously and respectful?

Decline reason:

Your legal threats are even less tolerable than your other behavior. Talk page access revoked. --jpgordon𝄢𝄆𝄐𝄇 03:52, 11 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Creating a second account so that you could have a with yourself wasn't a sound strategy. You may also want to read WP:NOTTHEM. You've already been told that Wikipedia is not a memorial; I nominate a wide variety of articles for deletion if they don't appear to meet our notability criteria; you had an opportunity to argue your case at the AfD article, and instead you engaged in sockpuppettry to echo your baseless accusations.OhNoitsJamie Talk 03:04, 11 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
