Regarding this edit to State Corporation Commission (Virginia), you appear to have added a substantial amount of information from this document. It is not apparent whether the information in this document is in the public domain. If not, its inclusion in Wikipedia would constitute a violation of copyright law. This can document can be found on the SCC's main website www.scc.virginia.gov and going to "The Commission" and "Overview of the Commission"
- I understand that the document can be found there. What I need to know is whether it is a document that is in the public domain, or whether you have the authority to release it under an appropriate license. Federal government publications are automatically in the public domain, but state government publications are protected by copyright unless the state chooses to release them from that protection. bd2412 T 23:37, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
I confirmed with our Information Resources Department that all information on the SCC website is public domain. This document is not copyrighted.

- If they can confirm that information is public domain, they need to do so either on the website itself or by writing the Wikimedia Foundation.
