Kabbe is a small constituency situated in the caprivi region of Namibia, most of the area is to be found in the flood area of the Zambezi. The town usually receives a lot of rain annually compared to many other towns in Namibia; Kabbe Constituency is usually affected by flood every year or from time to time within years. This happens because of the heavy rains received in the region predominantly in the villages,As flooding still continues, According to some of the local residents, the river will not go as high as the 1969's 8.15 m because of building along the river, as well as aforementioned flooding is in the river, which instigated paths for spillover from the riverbanks. However, they remember that every year when the river rises, it changes the path and banks - even with a few centimeters its ingestion away at sides. So the banks are not as durable as 40 years back, that is why the river broke over so rapidly and water is going so far-off. The area also comprehends the former German colonial habitation of Schuckmannsburg as well as other several villages surrounding it and combined it has a population of 14,979 people.

Disadvantage of flood: Litter of drinking water (clean drinking water becomes scarce), Structures such as buildings are damaged due to floodwater. Mudslides. People and livestock die due to drowning. It can also lead to epidemics and diseases. Unhealthy illnesses. Spread of water-Bourne diseases. Shortage of food crops can be caused due to loss of entire harvest. Economic hardship, temporary decline in tourism, rebuilding costs, food shortage leading to price increase

The Zambezi River at the intersection of Namibia with additional countries like Zambia, Zimbabwe make obtainable for the people of the Kabbe with freshly fish, decent grazing land for animals, which in turn brands the animals healthy and strong. The area also affords to make obtainable fertile farming land, which made the Kabbe people settle down there in the first place, because of the abundance fertile land good for crop production.the benefits of flood: Flooding can convey benefits, such as assemble soil more fertile and providing nutrients in which it is deficient. Periodic flooding was essential to the well-being of the Kabbe people. Floods allot rich sediment and refresh streams. Floods allow rivers and streams to overflow their banks naturally, which can avert more serious flooding downstream. Parks, open space and wetlands provide natural security from flooding, allowing water to spread over a large area and cause diminutive or no damage. Floods return nutrients to the land and contribute to the health of wetlands. These areas are significant for refining water and air quality, refilling groundwater resources, and auxiliary wildlife and aquatic surroundings.

Solutions to flood affected people: Flooding protection and drainage systems must be erected around the Regions in the Caprivi Region in the eastern corner of the country; they could also move people to higher ground or areas that are not prone to flood. Create artificial levees to prevent bank overflow. Create channels to direct water to areas where people do not live.
