Help me!

edit

Please help me with... two issues: naming of pages and image removal. The name of my subject, an author, is the same as that of a heavyweight boxer who already has a Wikipedia page. To overcome this I added in brackets after the subject's name the word, author. However, when I search for the article on the internet using the subject's name, the boxer's page comes up. Someone has inserted on the boxer's page a direction to the author's page but this is not very helpful because people searching for an author are not going to open a page on a boxer. Can I rename the page using the same name - it is his name after all. If not, what can I do?

The second issue relates to an image which I submitted but which has been deleted twice, the second time for alleged license washing. The photographer has removed all copyright on the image and the subject uploaded the new image (without copyright) with all the correct licenses onto his Flickr account, yet it was still deleted. What can I do? Anne O'Donnell (talk) 09:09, 12 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. As there is a already an article at Colm Keane, you need a "disambiguator", and Colm Keane (author) is the right way to do it. The "hatnote" at the head of the boxer's article is standard procedure, and ensures that someone looking for the author who just types the name will be directed to the right page. I have added a corresponding hatnote to the head of the author's article.
We have no control over Google: it sometimes takes a few days before new articles show up in searches.

I see no indication that the boxer meets Wikipedia's standards of notability and have consequently proposed that article for deletion. If nobody objects within a week the boxer article will be deleted, and we can move the article on the author, who does seem notable, in its place. Huon (talk) 15:05, 12 June 2015 (UTC)Reply
