Brazilian municipalities

Welcome!

Hi Angenhariaus! You are welcome to join Wikipedia:WikiProject Brazil and Wikipedia:WikiProject Intertranswiki/Portuguese. However, I've notice dyou creating a lot of articles on Brazilian muncipalities. This is great, however there is one thing I ask you to do. Please see Surubim. I would be extremely grateful if you could try to add an infobox like this and google search coordinates to add in them for every article. Eventually my goal is for every municipality in Brazil to have a neat infobox like this. All you have to do is click edit and copy the box to whatevrer article at the top and copy the same layout with the relevant details. If you need help on adding coat of arms/ flags etc see the infobo for Manaus for example. You should also add the Portuguese wikipedia article link an maybe translate info from that too, for instance Surubim has info on history etc. If you could work towards adding them to all Brazilian muncipalities by and ensuring they ave population/area data etc this would be a great load of my shoulders. Happy editing. Dr. Blofeld White cat 19:09, 10 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Did I waste my time speaking to you? Dr. Blofeld White cat 20:50, 10 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hello Angenhariaus, I saw your reply at User talk:Dr. Blofeld and I thought I'd offer you a couple editing pointers:

  • You don't need to add your signature to talk pages. Your username and the time of article creation are already recorded in the page history. Instead, please consider adding {{WPBrazil}} to talk pages of new articles.
  • Please add interlanguage links to new articles where there's an existing article in the Portuguese-language Wikipedia.

Thanks, Melchoir (talk) 07:34, 12 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Coordinates

edit

Great work adding new articles about places. Please also consider adding coordinates, using {{Coord}}; and perhaps also {{Infobox Settlement}}. Andy Mabbett (User:Pigsonthewing); Andy's talk; Andy's edits 23:25, 22 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

...and if you can't find coordinates for these articles, you might also want to consider adding a {{coord missing}} tag at the end of the article, which will add it to a hidden category used for maintenance. The {{coord missing}} tags take the name of the country as a qualifier: for example, for an article about a place in Brazil, you would add {{coord missing|Brazil}} to the end of the article, just before the category tags. This would then add the article to Category:Brazil articles missing geocoordinate data. -- The Anome (talk) 10:20, 23 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Porto de Galinhas

edit

I know it may seem brutal, but this article had become a tourist brochure, full of shameless advertising language and fulsome praise. Please restore only the most impartial, verifiable material from reliable sources. This is a reference encyclopedia, not a tourist guide to lure people to Brasil's many lovely beaches. --Orange Mike | Talk 13:42, 10 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

I also see your point; but we must maintain impartiality. Thus, if you begin to add material, use only the most reliable and impartial information; and avoid adjectives like "lovely", however accurate you may consider them to be. --Orange Mike | Talk 13:05, 11 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

You are now a Reviewer

edit

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 18:35, 15 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Latin American 10,000 Challenge invite

edit

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Latin America/The 10,000 Challenge ‎ has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Brazil, Mexico, Peru and Argentina etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Latin American content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon. If you would like to see this happening for Latin America, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Latin America, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant!♦ --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 00:25, 27 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Veneza water park

edit

The article Veneza water park has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Promotional article without independent sources.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
