Hello, Andrewcstewart21, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of your recent edits did not conform to Wikipedia's verifiability policy, and may have been removed. Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations verified in reliable, reputable print or online sources or in other reliable media. Always provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is likely to be challenged, or it may be removed. Wikipedia also has a related policy against including original research in articles.

If you are stuck and looking for help, please see the guide for citing sources or come to the new contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. • Please follow ordinary talk page guidelines. You overwrote a section, and now I have to undo that and move all your stuff to the bottom--where new comments are supposed to be placed. Drmies (talk) 18:04, 25 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Hi there, You recently deleted tables from a page I was updating on the basis that I had no citations. The page was for Woodgrove High School, under the band program page. I am a band student at Woodgrove, and all of that information was from personal experience. I would like to have the tables back, so I would like to know how you believe I should cite that information. Thanks in advance. (Hopefully this is where I'm supposed to post things like this, sorry for the mix up.)Andrewcstewart21 (talk) 18:07, 25 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
    • On my talk page, at the bottom. I moved your comment to where it belongs, and replied there. Drmies (talk) 18:09, 25 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
      • Ok, so here's the deal, and I'm sorry the editors here have allowed your misconceptions to continue so long. Your school does not have a "page" on Wikipedia; rather, Wikipedia has an encyclopedia article on your school. It's not for the school, it doesn't belong to the school and as a student, you have no special authority to edit it. You are welcome to edit it, but your edits must conform to Wikipedia policies and guidelines, and actually, your editing can be restricted if you cannot get past your COI as a person associated with the subject of the article. If you (or your mates) wish to edit this article, you'll need to get yourselves up to speed. John from Idegon (talk) 18:37, 25 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Probably not. You'll need to provide reliable secondary sources. Encyclopedias are tertiary. John from Idegon (talk) 20:25, 25 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Also, I cannot think of a situation where this article could be improved by the addition of a table. Editing tables is complicated and their use is only appropriate when the data you are presenting benefits from features available in tables (like multiple sorting). A bullet list, formatted correctly, is generally better. John from Idegon (talk) 20:30, 25 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
